EARLY LIFE.

Wyatt had a rough childhood- typical of a single-income home in the third layer. Substance and physical abuse, largely at the hands of his mother, were most of what he knew. He had nobody to turn to, no older siblings, nobody outside his home, and eventually learned to keep his head down and keep quiet. Luckily, he managed to get invested in the library instead of trouble. While the adults there were still distant, they paid more attention to him than anyone else had, encouraging a love of reading and of learning. Eventually pushing Wyatt to want to become a teacher. Not only to share his love of learning, but because he knew there would be others like him.

Community college was a slog, especially working two jobs and living with three people in a flat for one, but Wyatt has always been stubborn. If nothing else, it was worth it to meet his first real friend, someone who he still adores so much his core aches. Linc. Wyatt had never really experienced this closeness with another sun before, and he cherished it. Never making a move, scared of the consequences of his love, and terrified that Linc might not feel the same, but still finding himself trusting Linc more than he trusted himself. Core shattering as Linc became more and more distant, making it farther in life as a sports star than Wyatt could ever hope to get as a public high school history teacher. Simply having to accept that their lives would follow different paths.

DYSTOPIA ERA.

Wyatt currently works at one of the more mediocre high schools in the third layer, living relatively day to day. He loathes the history curriculum, knowing most of it is lies and perversions of the truth, but he does want to keep his job. He tries to focus more on the students, bringing the best out of even the worst performers. In spite of his cold demeanor, nobody is willing to get rid of him, due to his skills with "problem" students and willingness to help in school activities.

His home life is no better than is was in his youth, though. Isolated from the world by the woman who owns him. An obsessive coworker transplanted from the second layer, who knows far more about him than he's particularly comfortable with. His "wife" keeps him on an extremely short leash, content to have him to herself- even if she has to put up with his "quirks" and "issues".

LINC ELLAIDEcrush/best friend

Really, his only friend- his college buddy and dearest love. The first time he'd ever felt love, that he could really lean on someone else. While they've grown apart, both focused on their own lives, Wyatt still thinks of him fondly. He owns a part of Wyatt's core in a way he's totally unaware of.

While she seems like a sweetheart on the surface, she is anything but. Obsessed with Wyatt to an unhealthy degree, she considers him a trophy more than anything else. And he considers her more of a pest, placating her as much as possible for his own safety.

FLERO KOZAKINson

A dear little hatchling, Wyatt's baby in spite of his mother. He loves Flero more than anything, even Linc- and is willing to do anything to make sure he's safe and happy.

- Wyatt is the host of a system, and has been one for as long as he can remember.

- Like all history nerds, Wyatt has a love for RTS and war games. He doesn't have a very expansive collection, but one of the first things he ever got himself growing up was a copy of an old RTS to play on the library computers.

- He's a very involved father and does his best to be there for everything important to Flero. He also tries his best to foster a love of reading and brings Flero to the library often.
