Cheese was Olly's very first pokemon, given with the intent to start them on a gym journey. When Olly expressed disinterest, their parents turned cold. This was even more frustrating for them when Cheese expressed 0 interest in evolving for now, content as he was. Cheese eventually evolved during their school trip to Kitakami, fighting off Munkidori.
Olly and Cheese are extremely close, Cheese not even staying in his pokeball most of the day to hang out instead. Despite his mischevious expression, he's actually quite relaxed, saving his shenanigans for whoever he deems deserving.
