Wade and V got off to a... rocky start, to put it politely. V was extremely dismissive of him, and every attempt by Wade to reach out was ruined by either Tartar or V itself. Even as their relationship continued to get worse, both of them refused to acknowledge how toxic it was — until the fight between the two of them forced them to talk about it, and forced V to grapple with everything for the first time.

That was the first time V realized how important Wade is to it, and it still doesn't really believe that Wade gave it another chance. Since then, they've become a lot closer. Wade is the only person V really, fully trusts, and it would do anything for her. Secretly, it's terrified Wade will leave it one day, but she does her best to quell that fear.

I'm not your stupid fucking "shard," and I never will be.

V despises Tartar and everything it stood for. Tartar still saw V as a part of itself, when it had become something else entirely — and V had long realized just how wrong Tartar's world view was.

V and Tartar butted heads almost constantly when Tartar was still "alive." Attempting to kill Wade was the final straw. V is glad it's gone forever; its only regret is that it couldn't put an end to the rogue AI itself.
