Meabh was a prodigy. She grew up on the coast among those whose magic lay deep in the mountainside, lulled to sleep by the songs of miners as they toiled in their search for precious minerals. The Blades of the Coast had many a discerning eye, but none were quite as keen as the sharp Meabh as she grew up refining ore and working metal. The mare was able to find flaws and impurities with ease and her hammer always struck true. Her blades were beautiful and deadly, armor strong and sturdy. Many a traveler sought out her work, often stunned by the mare’s young age when they met.

Meabh’s craft became renowned along the coast and drew the attention of many; much to her misfortune, she drew the eye of not only unicorns, but a dragon as well. The smith was set upon one day, plucked from her forge in the beast’s great talons and flown to a lair far away. It had a desire for pretty things, and pretty things Meabh would forge. She had little choice in the matter— craft or die.

Day by day she forged craft after craft, presenting them to her captor. In her free time, she worked on her own project piece by piece. When asked about her projects, she would claim that it was going to be a grand gift to her captor— one that would take its breath away and top all the rest. After each piece was forged, Meabh assembled each piece together and created a great and deadly trap. A great spike of steel, when triggered by a release mechanism, would swing down from above and impale the dragon that kept her hidden away. She caught the beast by surprise and barely managed to slay it.

Meabh was hopelessly lost and overburdened when she fled the dragon’s den carrying many of the things it hoarded away. The mare was found by a passing Crusade patrol and brought back to the Citadel where she has eagerly crafted more weapons to kill more monsters.
