Maubrey once used to be part of an organization, but later decided she no longer wanted any part of it. She fled far north, hoping to escape their clutches. She settled in Wulfstan, an isolated frontier town located deep in the snowy mountains.

Maubrey lived a quiet life and got to the know the local residents, including a reserved but sweet yuan-ti that moved in after her named Sinista. 

One of Sinista's inventions exploded in a tavern once, and Maubrey knew she was smitten from that moment on.

She tried many flirting attempts, but it took Sinista some time to catch on due to how clumsy Maubrey is and how often she fumbles.

The two had a peaceful 4 years of marriage, when suddenly one day a crime was pinned on Maubrey. She took the blame for it and was locked up. Thanks to her mysterious connections, she was able to secure upcoming assistance from the honorable and powerful Judge Giovanni.

While waiting for his assistance, the town was ambushed by the Midnight Carnival — a gathering of sinister monsters that appeared across the continent around nighttime from unknown origins.

Outside her cell, Maubrey could hear the sounds of fighting and panicking. As she attempted to figure out a way to escape, she was approached by a humanoid man dressed in all black, a wicked sharp grin as black ooze dripped from him and left gooey trails in his wake.

His arm shot out, and everything turned dark.

• Extremely fluffy. Why would Sinista need blankets when her wife is a heat machine.
• Deals in Alchemist and Woodcarving tools
• For all her blundering movements, she's actually surpringly graceful when it comes to her plants and experiments
• Not the best fighter, but enjoys partaking in the annual Iron Sights bare knuckle tournament. Plus she gets to eat amazing shepherd’s pie afterwards
• Extremely camera avoidant. Refuses to have photos of her taken.
