After many years of feeling out of place, Sena's life eventually came crashing down around them. As a last resort, they follow the guidance of their late mother, who left behind some personal objects for when Sena needs them most; following the instructions of an old, faded letter, Sena leaves their town to go somewhere far away.
There, they meet Minami and Mitsuki, two women who are immediately very kind in taking them in, something that comes as a bit of a shock. However, Sena does not know that a huge secret about their past is looming just beneath the surface.
- Sena was adopted after their mother disappeared, but never got close to their new family.
- They were quick to turn to their mother once things got dire.
- Sena doesn't know how to swim.
Sena is pretty pessimistic over all, not great at dealing with other people. They tend to keep their problems and feelings to themselves.
Because of their blank exterior it's hard for people to know what they are thinking about. It has generally caused people to overlook Sena for the most of their life, especially in childhood - after all, a quiet kid is a kid who doesn't "need" anything.
As such, Sena has been friendless for the most of their life, and it's only after meeting Minami and Mitsuki that they end up having regular contact with others outside of work-related situations.
Despite this disposition, Sena is very kind deep down. They struggle to deal with people, but they still want to help those in need.

An elegant woman and one of the people who Sena lives with in the seaside beach house. They all work at the same store.
Mitsuki seems like she has it all together but she has a tendency to panic at the smallest sign of conflict or crisis.

The other woman who's to become part of Sena's little polycule. She is a pretty girl with a fashionable style and friendly disposition.
Her overeager personality may cause people to find her frivolous or pushy, but she doesn't mean anything bad by it despite everything.
- Sena comes from a colder climate, but once they make the long trip down to Toyohara, they start wearing clothing that's more suitable to the weather. This includes an off-shoulder t-shirt, slightly oversized so they have tied it up around the waist, as well as a pair of shorts and comfortable slip-on sandals. Despite their mermaid identity being something they don't know, I still decided to include hints to it in the human design, by adding the pearl bracelet and the sea shells to the sandals; a little treat, just for me.
- The pendant around their neck is, much like as for other merfolk, the source of their powers, including the power to transform back and forth between their human form and mermaid form. With their pearl having been lost for that long, the transformation has had them stuck at "human" for all their life. This changes when they go to Toyohara and is handed the pearl back. This is why it comes as a huge shock when Sena then goes into the water while wearing the pendant, and suddenly their legs are gone, replaced with a vibrant tail; this causes even more panic.
- As a mermaid, Sena's appearance changes quite significantly. Their shorter hair turns to long, flowing pigtails, they sprout appendages instead of ears, and of course, the tail. A pink tail with green fins. Sena doesn't understand this transformation at first, and struggles to gain control of their new body, especially seeing as they had been entirely unable to swim for all of their life, suddenly having to do that is confusing for them.
- Sena isn't the fastest swimmer as a mermaid, having a very balanced build overall, and this is definitely hampered by having to learn how to swim anew. Still, they are a very beautiful mermaid and is sure to attract much attention (from Minami and Mitsuki hint hint hint).
- This was very unintentional on my part, but when I was designing them, someone pointed out that the color schemes have fruity themes. For Sena's case, their theme would be "watermelon". While I use pink instead of red I still think it stands in the end, a sorta pastel-y watermelon color scheme. For reference Mitsuki is grapes and Minami would be strawberries.
