• Half sun elf and half human. His father was a pureblood sun elf and his mother was an outsider and a human. Seryn's unnaturally warm terracotta skin, golden eyes, and abundant freckles are distinctly derivative of his elven blood.
• The circumstances of his birth were unorthodox to the sun elf clan, and there were some among the elders who wished to undo his existence. However, Seryn was born with the 'sun's gift.' This was a revered blessing which surfaced once every generation where a child would be born with an innate affinity for fire magic and a deep, primal connection to the arcane weave. To the regret of many, it happened to be the halfblood baby, Seryn. As with tradition, he was to train under the shamans and become the next Blood Mage. He grew up among the magic elites of his clan, and his whole life was dutifully organized and prepared for this ordained role. However, as he grew older and more curious, he began to recognize the gravity of what he would be asked to do as a 'Blood Mage'. When he came of age to complete the ritual, Seryn decided he wanted absolutely nothing to do with these inhumane practices. Given no choice, he abandoned his home in order to be liberated of the responsibility. He eventually found himself at Baldur's Gate and started a new life for himself there.
• Despite rejecting his people, he still adorns himself with traditional attire and décor that is distinctive of his clan. He's not sure whether he does this out of habit or duty.
• Well read and lover of knowledge. He was raised in a place not unlike an archive while he was being prepared for the position of Blood Mage. It was his job to be educated on the tomes in that temple, but he also enjoyed it. Still likes to seek out new material, though sometimes his curiosity for books can get him into trouble.
• Warm and witty personality. He's easy to like and gets along well with others, but there can be an edge to his inviting demeanor. His intentions are often good, but he still knows how to manipulate and command people should he need. Easygoing and charming no doubt, but the last person that would ever become a people-pleasing doormat. Often finds himself as mediator between conflicts, and has proven himself to be a natural leader.
