Servilia’s Pearl

A beautiful Pearl that was gifted to a very high-ranking member of the Gem Empire as a show of merit.

Although she came to fall deeply in love with her Owner, as well as vice versa, perhaps that was what lead to her Owner’s downfall in the first place.

Wishing for their Pearl to be able to be an equal to them, her Owner defected to Earth and joined the Crystal Gem rebellion. Being such a high-ranking gem, her Owner’s defection was seen as a terrible betrayal, and there was a high level warrant out for their capture.

The gem in question was eventually captured and held on trial for treason, in which they were found guilty on all counts and sentenced to shattering.

The Pearl was deemed to not possess capability to report her Master’s betrayal, and was not punished. This Pearl was then regifted to another Owner as a show of merit on their behalf, just as she was with her original Owner.

Unlike her prior Owner, this Pearl and her new Owner did not have a close relationship at all. She now spends most of her days in grief and laments her failures to protect and save the love of her life.

（Named in honor of the black pearl gifted by Julius Caesar to his mistress Servilia, mother to Marcus Junius Brutus, who would come to be one of many who had a part in assassinating Caesar. The pearl was allegedly purchased for six million sesterces, making it worth approximately one and a half billion dollars today, and perhaps the most valuable gem of all time.）
