Argus

Argus has always lived in second place. His parents certainly tried to stick him in all the etiquette classes and extracurriculars that his older brother Monet had breezed through, but he never quite got the hang of it the same, no matter how hard he tried. So he became a wayside shame left to his room while his family hosted grand parties and showed off their favored child. Argus spoke little to anyone except Monet, who favored his company despite all the world’s that he had. As they got older, the extended trips their parents took made them only as absent as they always had been.
When Morgan arrived to take the ‘gift’ that their parents had offered out of their firstborn for his Garden, Argus was graced by the attention of his wife, Inez. Noticed for the first time and worried about Monet, Argus came along, too. Morgan made mercenaries of them both. For once, he found something he surpassed his sibling at. The violence Morgan wanted from him was nothing he enjoyed - the right stature, wrong heart, for such things - but he was good at it, and it got him praise, and it meant he could protect the people he wanted to, which included Morgan and Inez, now, who were good to him. So he pursued its refined edge with all the strength he could offer.
With Morgan’s death and the Garden disbanded, Argus has found himself a little lost. He stays in the manor that’s held him all these years with Inez, trying to make himself useful for her wherever he can.
