"TURN BACK!"
Captain James Wilson is permanently 32 years old. Once a brave sea captain, he's now cursed to be the blind captain of a ghost ship known as the Maiden's Shadow, after he and his crew tried to take control of the ship. His crew's lives and his sight were taken, he was made immortal, and he's been bound to the galleon ever since.
What were once a bright smile and striking scarlet eyes have been replaced with a desolate frown and grey rings surrounded by black sclerae. His tattered uniform is all that remains of his past.
Wilson, who prefers to be called by his surname, is a somber and sorrowful individual, his former liveliness and high spirit having been completely drained from him long ago. Having been living in isolation for decades with scarce interaction, it's a miracle he's still holding on to his sanity. The only interaction he ever gets is warning would-be legend seekers away from the ship, in hopes that they don't suffer the same fate he did.
Though his almost ghostly appearance wards many off, only aided by his ominous warnings, Wilson has a kind soul-- the same one he had before his curse. Those who stay around long enough will hear his tale of his curse, and will be pleaded to never go legend-seeking; after all, they could very well meet a similar fate to his, if not worse. Though he's jumpy and gets upset when people are reckless on the Shadow, he's never shown outright aggression towards anyone. He simply cares about their lives, and doesn't want anything bad to happen to them; after all, the Shadow is a ghost ship and is highly unpredictable.
Though Wilson knows people should stay away from the ship, one of his biggest wishes aside from being freed from his curse is to have a crew again-- even if that crew only consists of one other person, all he wants is company. He's a scared and lonely man, and he has been since he was cursed. Sometimes he sings to himself, still remembering the shanties he and his crew would sing along their voyages, hoping that one day, he'll hear a voice singing back to him...

-He quite literally cannot leave the ship; if he tries, he'll be blocked by an invisible barrier that only affects him
-Usually has a vacant stare, since he feels no need to move his eyes if he can't see
-Eye rings have a faint glow
-His "hair" is actually a mass of tendrils
NOTE: I recommend using a soft brush (e.g. airbrush) for his pupils if you're colourpicking from his eye palette! They're not as bright as shown on the palette; it's just there so I don't have to guess the shade of grey I have to use!
