There were little times in which he could escape his prision (he found a way out and a time on which there were no vigilants) and roamed around the Moon. He met Nubia, and became his childhood beat friend before she was taken to the tower.
After some years, which he considered (and literally was) a torture, and after losing Nubia without a trace, he decided to leave the Moon, with or without help. He found a ship... But he was discovered. He tried to rush his escape and ended up losing an arm and spent the whole journey bleeding.
He reached Earth pale, and almost dead from the lose of blood.
Luckily, he was found by a rather peculiar family. A couple of aliens that came from the planet Gemini. They owned a mechanic shop and with that knowledge, they built a prosthetic arm for Luan.
He was thankful for their help and, as a way of repairing the favor, he took the face of the shop, and started to work there as Kendra, the daughter of the family and now Luan's best friend, hid behind to watch.
His personality changed a lot from the one he had as a youngster. He stopped being lazy and became curious, active and more and more happy as a way to regain his humanity. He knew he had to accept his genetically modified lion part (even the worst part of all), but he also wanted for become the person he could have been without what happened to him on the Moon.
