Works as a barista at Coiled Cafe, the coffee shop across the street from Asher's bakery. Has declined promotions to higher positions due to his love for the manual work of making drinks. Has a huge crush on Asher but is afraid of rejection due to not knowing his preferences. Mateo will bring a latte over occasionally to him- as his shift at the coffee shop ends before Asher closes up his shop, using the excuse that an extra one had been made on accident. Previously couldn't stand baked goods that had filling in them but has come to love eclairs as Asher often has a few extra for them to share.

Estranged from his family due to his transition, but trying to make the most out of life. Keeps in contact with his older brother and sister, but is no contact with his parents. Loves the ocean, having grown up in a landlocked desert. Cried when he first saw the ocean, the blue water stretching further than the desert scrubland could ever. Has an interest in keeping a saltwater aquarium but knows he wouldn't be able to afford the pieces and upkeep of one. Makes up for it by decorating his small apartment with subtle ocean and fish flair.
