Back when he was a baby cleric just headin off to war to defend his home country from a horrible Empire that wished (and later succeeded) to take total control by force. He used to smile an awful lot and was quite the cheerful dude back then. His parents were well and happy, he had a fiancé, and everything (except for the ever hungry Valian army looming in the distance) was just fantastic.
Iohannes had a more slim and athletic physique, and wielded a sword in his left hand back in the day.
