Chip is a fun loving, sneaky goblin who likes to give gifts more than most. His favourite types are those that he's stolen from humans, as they tend to have the weirdest stuff (from food to strangely cut stone, from instruments to baskets, from gold to human babies). He is fiercely protective of his home, trusting in his home to always overcome any challenges. After being proven wrong, he becomes quite lost. He dedicates his life to making sure that the goblin eating giant spiders that destroyed his life won't have the chance to do so again.
Overview
Follow Chip as he deals with interpersonal relationships in the only way he knows how : Steal human objects and give them to people that he likes. This creates problems in the local human settlement which ripple outward.
Chapter 1
Chip spends several months finding the perfect gifts for Hint, then being rejected in favour of his rivals. In a fit of rage he manages to kill his rival and earn enough of her patience for an ultimate task : acquiring gold from the local human mine. He enlists the help of his peers, which goes swimmingly. She agrees to marry him during the celebratory feast.
Chapter 2
3 months later, their five children are born. Chip spends the summer months raiding the human community and raising the surviving kids. The human druids that he stole from create a goblin eating spider in retaliation, which slowly winnows away at the population. This culminates in large scale defensive action, and a massive battle.
Chapter 3
Chip, finding all but one child dead in the aftermath, flees. He finds Taps as he kills the last remaining spider. They agree to leave for the goblin city in the southern Wetlands, doing their best to outrun the oncoming cold. Along the way they find Shep, her herd of goats and her own child. They make it during the first snow storm, just in time to hybernate.
Chapter 4
Waking up with the spring, Chip and his family explore the city. The Historian they found along their travels puts in a good word for their family, giving them access to a home and employment. Chip struggles to fit in thanks to his newfound fear of spiders, eventually taking up warrior training.

One sided crush turned begrudging marriage, Hint does not respect Chip despite how hard he worked to gain her approval. They had 5 children together.

The unnamed final living child between him and Hint, having traversed the FreeHolds in search of a new home before being a year old. They get along very well.
Companion
The final adult survivor of their community and de-facto leader as they traveled along the FreeHolds, Chip thinks that Taps is very cool. He's only a little jealous.

Traveler and fellow single parent, Shep and Chip have much in common. She finds his youthfulness charming and refreshing, while he has some trouble understanding her genuine kindness.
Child
A playmate for Chip's own kid, he is very fond of them. As the (usually) more reserved of the two, he hopes that they will grow up healthy and stealthy.
