His family line is one that stayed faithful to Valacar and Eldacar in the Kin-Strife and was granted service to the Ruling House of Gondor and good housing ever since. It has been 7-8 generations since this, and their line has become somewhat more mixed with men, though they are still primarily of Dúnedain blood. Now, they live in the upper rings of the city of Minas Tirith and work as servants to the House of Húrin in many capacities.

He grew up in Minas Tirith, his father a soldier and captain, his mother a ranger and stablemaster. He worked often as a stablehand, errand boy, and herald growing up. He joined the city guard and was sometimes called upon to go join the front lines in the fight against the Enemy but primarily stayed in the city. He was called away by an old friend of his mother's, a ranger in the Grey Company, and there was captured in the Bree-Lands and ended up in the service of Aragorn to help drive back the shadow before returning to his home.
