Jonathan Smith

Jonathan was born in Utah, in 1904, to a decently sized family. Being the youngest out of his siblings but very much still the golden child unbeknownst to him. His youth is reflective of his current life - he was raised in a very religious household as a part of the LDS faith, that led to his core beliefs, and with a financially stable income from his parents he was truly a fortunate boy..

For most of his life it seemed nothing could go wrong and for most of it, that was true. Much like his father and siblings, he would serve a typical mission at the age of 18 and would return home at the age of 20 once he returned Jonathan found himself following along following in his father's footsteps once more by managing to afford education for himself (with parental support of course) and find the love of his life who he would soon marry. With a high-paying job (don't ask me what it is I don't know,) his position in the church as an LDS bishop, and a happy and healthily established relationship Jonathan and his wife would begin their... consideably sized family in 1924.

The couple would go on to have 7 kids, each two years apart, with three boys and four girls. His sons, Joseph, Joshua, and Jonah being the oldest out of the seven. For the most part, Jonathan believed himself to be a good father and doing what was right. He raised his kids in the church with hopes they would learn good beliefs and morals from it. And because of his inability to see the bad in people, he was truly blind to the teasing his own kids partook in even when it was in his own household.

And for a while, everything was at peace. He was a bishop with his friend Clayton as his 1st Counselor, a father of seven 'lovely' children, and an honorable member of the community. That was, at least, till Jonah returned from his mission.

Jonah had always seemed to be an odd duck, different from the rest of the family, and that was only driven further after returning from his mission with disillusioned faith.... which Jonathan saw only as a mere obstacle and a test of faith that his sweet baby Jojo would bounce back from... to which he did not, with Jonah taking his own life in his 40s. Leaving his father in absolute ruin that would lead him to a lot of self-reflection and a rude awakening to the reality of his children's ways - causing a lot of blame placed upon himself.

He would turn to his family and his faith to support and do his best to improve himself and undo the past troubles he had unintentionally been blind to. This was only perpetuated with his wife's passing.. and suddenly his life got a lot more quiet.
