Long ago, their mother had passed while out hunting, and the poor thing got lost! They eventually managed to make their way back home, but died of dehydration just before managing to get inside the cave. Nox took pity on them after they had died, and so revived them, giving them extra eyes so that they would not lose sight of her, making sure that they would never feel abandoned again, but in the process, making them an abomination.
Their scarf was made by their mother! The triangles represent their home, the mountains, the circles represent the rising and falling of the sun, and the lines represent the vast sands! She made it so that the child would be able to always know their home.

Now days, it is typically seen deep in the mountains, trying to find its way back home. Oiraons have said that they have heard crying in the distance when traveling certain parts of the mountains, and those that try to find the source of the crying will find a small child. When they try to get the attention of the child to offer it help, they are met with a face of too many eyes. It cries out, asking if the travelers have seen their mother or if they can have help finding her. Unfortunately, this is almost always met with terror, the travelers fleeing as fast as they can, leaving the poor child all alone and afraid once more :(
While many do no believe the Weeping Mountain Child (as they would call them) is real, those who have heard or seen it will always warn others traveling in the mountains that do not know the area to not seek out the source if they hear weeping when traveling the mountains...
Their name they have long forgotten. Either to time or from when Nox revived them. Whichever way it was, all they know is that they are alone and afraid and want their Rii-Rii.
