Summary
A livelong solider who is deeply passionate and dedicated to his country. He became a Major General during a long and bloody war, known for his tactical mind and cold demeanor towards death. He would achieve victory at all costs, no matter how many had to die, and how many hated him for his ways. In the middle of a massive battle, he disappeared...
...And awoke in another world, in the body of a Pokemon! He soon met Basil, an anxious Rowlet who wanted to join a rescue team but didn't trust his own decisions. Rainer reluctantly agreed, but only so he could find a way to get home. He hopes it isn't too late.Personality
Passionate/Hardworking
When Rainer is given a task, he will complete it come hell or high water. He never rests until his tasks are done right, regardless of personal cost. He's the type to forego basic necessities and push himself beyond his limits to get things done, which leads to him getting frustrated and exhausted. Because he puts so much of himself into his work, he takes it very personally, and can seem overly invested because of his passion. He simply cannot stand the thought of letting people down. Unfortunately, he can definitely take out his perfectionism on others as well, especially Basil. And if someone gets hurt on his watch, he won't forgive himself for the error.
Formal
Rainer is usually more formal than the situation calls for. He never seems to just relax and enjoy himself: he's always on guard, waiting for a situation in which he has to act. He avoids any personal or emotional conversations, which can make him seem cold or impersonal. In reality, he simply feels an immense amount of responsibility and is scared of being seen as weak or vulnerable in any way.
Irritable
Rainer was a Major General in his old world, so he's used to being listened to and respected on the outset. He gets very snippy when he feels he's being disrespected... or not being treated with preference. He will become very frustrated if he's talked down to or not believed, and hates that he now has to prove himself from the bottom-up once again. It's like being a recruit again...! But now he's a dog.
Awkward
He is simply Bad at socialization. He fumbles with small talk, and god forbid you try to talk to him about anything deeper. If it isn't businesslike, he's struggling. He especially can't handle being around children or people who are overly emotional. He doesn't know what to do whatsoever.

Moves
Low Kick
A powerful low kick that makes the target fall over. The heavier the target, the greater the move's power.
Rainer surges forward and delivers a powerful kick-- usually to the foe's shin or the back of their knee, causing them to tumble to the ground.
Bite
The target is bitten with viciously sharp fangs. This may also make the target flinch.
Rainer gives in to his riolu instincts and bites down on someone. Once he latches on, he will not let go willingly.
Bullet Punch
The user strikes the target with tough punches as fast as bullets. This move always goes first.
Rainer launches a metallic punch before the foe can even react. He aims for the ribs, most of the time.
Endure
The user endures any attack with at least 1 HP. This move's chance of failing rises if used in succession.
Rainer braces himself against an incoming attack, coming out injured, but alive.

Story
Old Life & New Beginnings
In his old life, Rainer was born in [COUNTRY], a nation that would become embroiled in war when he was a young boy. His town was destroyed, and he was saved from the rubble by soldiers. An orphan, he joined the military as soon as he was old enough, and worked hard to move up the ranks. Though the war that he knew ended when he was in his early 30s, he stayed in the military. He always felt there was another threat looming-- and he was right! A decade later, another war broke out, and he was a commander in it for several years. In the middle of a major battle, he left his command post to see the situation on the battlefield, and never returned.
One moment, he was walking towards the front lines. The next, he woke up in a field, alone. He was disoriented and confused-- had he been hit? Was he dreaming? Why was he a fuzzy blue creature? The first person he came upon was Basil, a local Rowlet who tried to explain everything to the frustrated Rainer. Humans had been appearing from another world, turning into Pokemon... Well, fine, but he needed to get back immediately. Basil admitted no one knew how to do that. But--! If he was in a rescue team, maybe they could find out! Seeing no other options, Rainer agreed. They formed Team Trailblaze that same day.
