Paul

Yep, this is Core's new wizard...Paul.

Due to the exclusivity of witches in Core, I will just go ahead and explain what they are in-profile.
A witch is an individual "blessed" with the ability to cast magic spells, imbue objects with magic, and create potions with varying effects. Witches are NOT to be confused with magic using humans, which are far weaker in magic ability. Humans have limited ability when it comes to magic, most having 0 capacity for magic to begin with. Witches, however, seem to have some divine ability to use any and all magic at once without damaging themselves. They are stronger and more capable than any other magical being, being on the same level as a god in power in that they could even create new life from nothing. A witch is nothing if not a person to fear.

Additionally, because this is such an immensely powerful individual, there can only be one witch in existence at any given time! The great balancing component to this powerful being.

The current witch (wizard) in Core is named Paul! He's a refreshing change from his predecessor. Aroura was destructive, but Paul wants nothing more than to go on adventures and test his limits when it comes to magic (he has none)

Paul is a bit of a goof, which is his greatest limiting factor in that he comes up with stupid or bad solutions to issues he encounters. Additionally, because he's a wizard, he thinks its "cool" to dress like one with a pattern that's got yellow stars and moons all over a blue background.

Paul currently travels around with a human fellow named Shiva. Shiva doesn't seem to want anything to do with Paul, threatening to kick his ass all the time, but Paul seems to adore Shiva. They met after they both went to deal with a dragon issue, but in their own ways. Shiva had planned on killing the dragon, but got his ass handed to him and was unconscious by the time Paul showed up. Paul, on the other hand, just had a simple chat with the dragon. The dragon had been terrorizing every human in a pretty large radius, but apparently they didn't realize how much damage they were causing. After talking to Paul, they agreed to have more communication with the humans around them and never to kill them, and that if they couldn't come to a peaceful resolution that they would find a new home. Victorious, Paul pulled Shiva back into town and helped him recover (much to Shiva's annoyance)
Turns out Shiva's firey and aggressive personality has absolutely nothing backing it, which made Paul want to help him. "Humans can learn magic!" He kept insisting, trying to teach Shiva magic. Shiva weighed the pros and cons of dealing with Paul. He liked the idea of getting to use magic himself, but he also hated this peppy idiot that had saved him. In the end, Shiva agreed to allow Paul to help him learn magic, but the deciding factor was establishing that Paul didn't want any payment for his help and if Shiva turned out to be incapable of using magic, Paul would pay him for wasting his time (the second part being what Shiva insisted upon and Paul is a pushover who agreed right away). Since then, they've been...friends? Polite enemies? No, more like rude friends. Shiva wants to punch Paul (which he does do occasionally) and Paul wants to hug Shiva! Paul and Shiva spend almost every day together, Paul showing up in the mornings and peppily waking his new friend with a happy cheer. Shiva hates it. The rest of the day is mostly just them doing normal stuff together, nothing special. However, sometimes one of the duo will find something important, a magical issue needing solved. This is when Shiva starts to be taught stuff, when Paul tests to see if a different kind of magic comes naturally to Shiva. So far, Shiva is capable of using only written magic; which he says doesn't count since it's external to him. Paul agrees it's not quite what he had in mind, but insists Shiva learn it anyway. Paul enjoys randomly quizzing Shiva, but it almost always results in getting hit since Shiva fuckin hates a good pop quiz.
