Erika is a professor and the fiancèe to Yeva Robert, Erika had dedicated a lot of herself to her fiancée so when she got diagnosed with Leukemia of course she freaked out a bit. As a last ditch resort Erika turned to brain mapping technology in order to keep her fiancée alive, she had managed to transfer it all to Yeva's CRT monitor although it did cause some data corruption.
Later on when Yeva died Erika turned to her digital copy unable to cope with the loss, she unhealthily clinged to her to the point where she was uncomfortable by the thought of other people even interacting with her. Unfortunately for Erika she didn't take into consideration how technology can degrade overtime resulting in certain files becoming more corrupted or even inaccessible.
She's not having a great time all things considered.
