Vervainpaw is a rather vain tom, constantly making sure every tuft of fur is in it's place. His fur is thick, soft, and slightly curls where it gets long especially. His features are bordering on feminine but is still handsome.
His eyes are green with broken sections of blue peeking through. The apprentice is of average build and height.

Despite exuding confidence and charisma, Vervainpaw struggles with bouts of depression and insecurity. It really started when he saw how cats naturally gravitated towards his twin, but he kept striking out while trying to make friends. He has internalized this a bit and is more of a recluse, sticking to the edges of camp with his eyes set on others to learn what they had that he didn't. He excels at hiding his feelings behind a charming smile or neutral expression. Below the surface his mind is turbulent with judgements about those around him and what they were doing wrong. The tom can be quite superficial, but he is careful not to show it.
Vervainpaw definitely uses his charms to his advantage and while he genuinely does care about those around him he is not above using what he knows about someone to get what he wants. As he's gotten older he is conflicted about his looks, what brings him pride on one paw also reminds him of the scum he shares his blood with, Spiderbite. Thoughts of his 'father' hurting his mother brings out a vengeful side to the young tom that is quickly stuffed away for a later date. Overall, Vervainpaw is a complicated cat that teeters along a careful balance of being vain, hopeful, loving, selfish, and righteous. Hopefully he finds his way among the world...

Vervainkit was born alongside his fraternal twin, Butterflykit, to a recently dumped mother, Bluebellchime. His father had not wanted kits and promptly revoked his offer of mateship upon finding out that the molly was pregnant. Distressed and ashamed, Bluebellchime raised her kits as best she could while struggling with her broke ego and self image. While most wouldn't be able to tell the depth of the queen's hurt, Vervainkit saw it in her bi-colored eyes. He saw the pain on her face when she looked at loving couples, and even more so if their father was mentioned/asked about. He grew to be extremely protective of his mother and sister, viewing life as the world versus them.
Upon reaching six moons old, Vervainkit was renamed and assigned to his grandmother, Honey. Newly named Vervainpaw, the tom felt a bubble of pride at his new found freedom and rank. He stuck closely to his twin, Butterflypaw, but with each passing day he grew more independent. The duration of Vervainpaw's apprenticeship was spent surrounded by death and despair, but luckily it avoided his little family.
While Butterflypaw succeeded in winning over the hearts of all those around her, Vervainpaw was not so lucky. It felt that he had to work 10 times harder to make a single friend, which sent him into an internal spiral of self-doubt. Thankfully, the more he tried the more successful he was, even if his friend group wasn't as big or as close.

Vervainpaw is very perceptive and has known for a long time that his mother struggles with her self-worth, specifically when it comes to being a mother. He loves her deeply and is extremely protective of her, to the point that he will fight anyone who speaks ill of her.
"I thought we were twins... then why is she perfect while I'm not?"
Despite loving her more than anyone else, Vervainpaw can't help but be a bit jealous at how easily Butterflydream makes everything look. Even with that, he couldn't ask for a better sister.
"Granny Honey is great, she's always very nice with me and doesn't give me too much trouble when I'm being lazy. I hate that she's been so sad recently, not that I can blame her with everything going on."
Honey is one of the cats Vervainpaw is closest with. He loves her dearly.
"You're my Grandpaw so I love you, but I don't really know you."
Vervainpaw wants to know Gooseberry but he is a bit too lazy to make the effort.
"You're my uncle right? Nice stache."
Vervainpaw wants to know Goatgaze but he is a bit too lazy to make the effort.
"You're my uncle right?"
Vervainpaw wants to know Galeflutter but he is a bit too lazy to make the effort.
"Auntie Mush is the best, I miss when she would visit us in the nursery but we are both grown ups now so it makes sense."
Vervainpaw loves Mushroompath and feels very protective of her. He keeps telling himself that he should visit her more but she is a social butterfly and he'd hate to jump into her conversations.
"Despite being Spiderbite's brother he seems like a nice guy... I'll make sure to keep my eye on him."
Vervainpaw inherently doesn't trust Leechmask yet because of his relationship to Spiderbite, but he knows it's possible that his paternal side of the family is nice and Spiderbite is just a rotten apple amongst the bunch. His interactions with Leechmask have all been positive, to the point that he feels guilty for having ulterior motives.
"Granny Night is very sweet, I don't understand how she birthed such a foxheart. I like visiting her because she always showers us with compliments and nice words."
Vervainpaw loves Nightshine but he can't help but be a bit reserved out of fear that she will hurt him by siding with her son over him.
"She didn't visit us as much as Mushroompath but I somehow feel like I understand her more. She struggles with making friends like I do... which makes no sense to me, so it really does seem that we are one in the same. Maybe we'll both figure out how be like our twin sisters..."
Vervainpaw really cares for Ivythorn and relates to her in a way that he hasn't with anyone else. He feels a bit better at the fact that it's not just him that struggles to make friends/fit in.
"He's funny, not intentionally but I find his mannerisms endearing. Hollowpaw's one of the first to reciprocate my attempts to be friendly, which I appreciate greatly. I look forward to getting to know him better."
Vervainpaw likes Hollowpaw a lot, to the point that he trusts him with info that he keeps close to his chest. He also finds Hollowpaw to be handsome, ethereal even, with those light lashes and elegant coat.
