woe, bg3 dark urge plot spoilers be upon ye if you highlight the spoilered text!
taltos is a child of bhaal and grew up to lead his dad's cult. his memories of most of his life are very muddled and vague, but he does not remember his childhood whatsoever. he just knows that he was a paladin of bhaal and led the cult for several years. and was generally a mean and icky guy doing mean and icky things. he doesn't like to think about who he used to be. anyways, all of that came crashing down when orin decided to try to take him out of the picture and scrambled his brains up! he survived (and ended up being a weird lady's torture pet for a while?) and is now on a quest to... ruin the plan he helped start, basically!a pretty stoic guy. he's a little awkward, not because he's shy or anything, but he's a bit... socially inept? he just doesn't say much and tends to be somewhat blunt when he does. he doesn't like most people, only really getting attached to a handful. but he's very protective over the ones he does care about. he's got a little bit of a one-track mind and is usually too distracted by his own goals and feelings to think about someone else's. kind of self-centered, but not always on purpose or in a mean way. he just has a lot going on in that messed up head of his.
he really dislikes his weird murderous urges-- he's fine with killing people and isn't necessarily a "good" person, but he doesn't like the whole losing control bit. he's worried it might end up being someone he cares about. not really into the whole "indiscriminate slaughter" thing anymore, especially now that he has, like... actual friends. and a boyfriend.
he broke his oath to bhaal when he refused to give in to his urges. he doesn't want to be under bhaal's thumb anymore or have any obligation to anyone from his past. he wants to live his own life and mind his own business. and he managed to do just that when he traveled to his old temple, defeated orin, and basically told bhaal to shove his "gift" up his own ass. sure it got him killed, but it was honestly kind of cathartic and good for him. and he got revived anyways, AND was free from his nasty bhaalspawn urges! and, yknow, defeating the netherbrain and freeing everyone from the tadpoles was good too. he's thankful to finally be free of both of his little Issues. he's not going to become lawful good or anything because of all this, of course. he's the same as he was before, with the exception of being actually in control of his own scrambled up brain. he's looking forward to a long and happy life with his boyfriend ♥
