Coal

Story

Born as an Earth Pony, Scoria lived and worked at a farm by the mountains. She lived far beyond Equestria into a land that was unknown to most. Even when she was young, she was a very strong pony who mostly worked the fields or often moved the most boxes. She was much like a colt when she was young, but as she got older, she started to identify as a stallion. So then 'he' changed his name to Coal.

One day his mother told him to get something that a mare would wear. He thought of necklaces, but when he went to town, there was nothing that interested him. He then heard of a stone that he could get inside a cave within a volcano that has special magic to it. He thought it was perfect to make a necklace out of. His best friend joined him on the adventure to the volcano. They got there and entered the cave that went into it. Eventually they got to a room with the stone in the middle, but once Coal picked up the warm stone and put it in his bag, creatures of ash and rock came to life and chased after them. Coal helped his best friend escape the cave, but not without the volcano exploding. They tried to outrun the lava, but Coal pushing his friend forward, he was behind and he got burnt in the back hoof. He continued to gallop though, and thats when the stone in his bag glowed and thats when he became an alicorn. Using his quick thinking, he used his wings out of panic and lifted his friend above the running lava. Then they were to safety.

Once they got to the town to see the jewelry maker, everypony looked and talked to him asking him questions. Once he showed the jeweler told him of the legend of the stone. Only the prince or princess of Earth and courage can become an alicorn with it.
So ever since, he wore whats left of the stone around his neck and practiced using his new abilities at the farm.

Btw, most of the time he tries to use his magic, it usually blows up in his face or something. XD
