Backstory:

When he was very young he was orphaned due to his defect leading him to fend for his own. When he decided to sneak into the castle courtyard, he was spotted by the prince and they quickly became friends. Because he felt bad for his situation, the prince somehow got his friend to live in the palace with him as a personal servant, like a governor.
