In a fantastical world where magic exists, oppression is still upheld through the kingdoms. In the kingdom where our story takes place, magic is outlawed and banned. It is suppressed by the royal family and the guards they hire, with only special permission given to particular magic users that can aid the kingdom, but whose very right to exist are still withheld. A rebellion has been brewing violently within the kingdom's walls, fighting for magic to exist outright, but its efforts have been squashed over and over by the royal family.

In an effort to gain more power and forces to combat the uprising, the king and queen have decided to marry their son, Prince Kent, off to the prince of a neighboring kingdom, Prince Damien. Their union would mark the merging of the two kingdoms and provide grounds for the neighbor to send more aid their ay and thus pose a greater threat against the rebellion. It is not a perfect union, however, and the stress of everything political as well as Kent and Damien's misaligned personalities make it hard to see a proper ending to the entire charade.

Things are only made more complicated when Kent grows close with a sex worker in town and Damien falls for the leader of the rebellion. Will things work out for either side or will the conflicting desires only lead to the downfall of everything withing these castle walls?
