Claire lived sometime in the 1700s, she was cursed by witches, having her eyes replaced with pearls that let her see spirits, when the witches realized the curse was more of a gift to her, they sent her straight to hell. Luner saw that Claire was a saint, and decided to take care of her. After three years Claire wanted to return to the living since she never really died, Luner did allow this, but wanted her return to be vengeful. Luner attached her soul to VOID and giving her control of it, a magic container that could consume anything, and make anything. a gift that would almost always get it's owner killed due to people fighting over it and greed. She was passed from owner to owner due to them dying or having her stolen for around 300 years. She's found by a man who does the usual routine, uses VOID to make loads of money before Claire kills him, but before he does, he asks that she take care of his son, Andrew. She then finds herself attached to the boy just as much as she's attached to VOID.

Motives

Claire wants nothing more than to live again, and grow old with Andrew, this importantly means keeping him alive and safe from the people trying to steal VOID from him.

Claire's morals have spoiled though the years. she's attempted to resurrect herself on multiple occasion at the expense of others, none of the attempts having succeded.

• Claire was originally named Elaine after gooseworx's "Elain the bounty hunter", but was changed for the word play having to do with her eyes, and the song name "Clair de lune". The name Elaine was used for Claire's flipside equivalent.
• Claire's living design is based on a smudge I found on my whiteboard, she was nicknamed Sharpie for a while before her character was fleshed out.
• Claire is shaped like a women's bathroom sign.
• Claire, and other ghosts are based on spirit designs from the binding of Isaac, and the end is nigh.
• Claire's pearl eyes are based on cursed eye of the binding of Isaac.
