Although his confidence can be a turnoff to some, Ulrich is really a down to earth, caring person who would most likely put the needs of others before his own. Overall however his exterior is rather hard to read, given he doesn't allow himself to express too much. You know you have reached a point of high trust then he even slightly smiles around you.
Ulrich values teamwork and working to one another's strengths, finding power in numbers far better than dealing with situations by yourself.
His inappropriate timing of deadpan humor can also be a turnoff for most, his attempts at lightening a bad situation being seen more as an act of heartlessness more than an attempt at cheering up those around him. Give Ulrich time and he'll come around though, showing that he is a quick witted and trustworthy companion.
I'm stuck in a strange place
Blood-cursed BeastkinBorn in blood, a primal instinct manifests and heightens one's physical capabilities.
As a bonus action, you can assume a more bestial appearance. This transformation lasts for 1 minute, until you die, or until you revert to your normal appearance as a bonus action. When you shift, you gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Constitution modifier.
Beasthide specific: Whenever you shift, you gain 1d6 additional temporary hit points, and while shifted, you have a +1 bonus to your AC.
BloodrageA feral curse, now tamed, a tempered beast set to hunt.
You learn to control the lycanthropic curse that courses through your veins. As a bonus action, you transform into a special hybrid form for up to 1 hour. You can speak, use equipment, and wear armor while in this form, and can revert to your normal form as a bonus action. You automatically revert to your normal form if you fall unconscious or die. This feature replaces the rules for lycanthropy in the Monster Manual. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.
Feral Might: You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and you have a +1 bonus to melee damage rolls. This bonus increases to +2 at 11th level and to +3 at 18th level.
Resilient Hide: You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks not made with silvered weapons. Additionally, while you are not wearing heavy armour, you have a +1 bonus to AC.
Born the single child of the leader of his small village and blood hunting group, Ulrich already had big expectations of him. Throughout the years he took up blood hunter work under the guidance of his father and his trusted companions, finding great interest in his work, more often than not getting into trouble by going out on his own excursions in the region in order to learn as much as he could.
His home village primarily consists of those cursed with lycanthropy who found themselves without anywhere else to go, thus together formed the community and group known as The Kanohalidohi, where together they would learn to tame the feral blood within them, harness their lycan form and use it to hunt down monster and beasts alike that sought nothing but senseless destruction.
On the night of his 19th birthday Ulrich underwent the Taming ritual set to bring him formally into the ranks of The Kanohalidohi as well as help him gain control over his lycan form, as well as begin the process of taking over his father's important work of leading their community and their hunting group. The pressure was a lot; self imposed by thoughts of him not believing he was ready... Thus one night he absconded, leaving nothing but a note:
"I'll come home when I'm worthy."
Now he travels, having found companions along the way on his journey of self-discovery, but it seems like the world and the forces that control it have a lot more in store for Ulrich and his party of fellow adventurers.
