Lord Raemond Merhast

Fan character for roleplay in Tolkien's Middle Earth!

Raemond is a young lord of Dol Amroth in Gondor. He is in his early 20's, having fled North towards Bree-land after murdering his abusive father. He settled after gaining custody of his toddler daughter; the child was the result of an affair between him and his brother's wife. He became the town's most acclaimed surgeon, though the xenophobia of the villagers due to him being rich and from Gondor made it rather difficult.

Several years later, Rae inherited his father's land and title, since all his other 19 siblings voted Rae should handle it since he was the most responsible and did free them of their father's tyranny. Thus Rae inherited a rather notorious name and naval fleet, his father having hands in piracy and shady dealings. Rae uses his new power and station to his advantage and tries to clean up his father's mess. He is trying to improve his family's relations with others and restore old alliances and trade routes, trying to become more merchant than pirate.

War of the Ring:
Rae spent most of the war time in Bree, though he heard Gondor needed aid and rode to Minas Tirith as hard and fast as he can, making it back in time to serve as a battlefield medic in the battle of Pelennor fields, thus clearing his name of his crimes of murder earlier and gaining favor for the Merhast's
