This is Rend! He lives high in the mountains, guarding the upper valleys from human intruders. He collects the souls of those who are overcome by mountain sickness or avalanches, and keeps them in the jar hanging on his side. The thick mane that covers his neck appears to be made of rough, tangled ropes. Travelers share stories of how you can hear this mountain spirit's approach by the rattling of the skulls around his neck. If the wind is picking up and you hear this sound, it's definitely time to turn around and take a different route through the mountains, because you've probably ventured too close to the place this spirit is guarding.
