Jacklyn "Jackie" Hallows is a wandering jack-o'-lantern who doesn't stay in one place in Gensokyo for too long. She isn't particularly physically strong, but isn't able to die and has the ability to convince people, which gives her an advantage in some regards.

Jacklyn is a trickster and a thief, loving pranks and teasing to the point that she sometimes goes too far with it. She also seemingly lacks the understanding, or perhaps the care, that her harm that comes as a result of her actions is wrong. She may come across as not particularly smart, but she has enough understanding of people to know how to manipulate and convince people.

She also has a poor memory, not remembering how she began to exist in the way that she is now. She also often forgets things people tell her about themselves, though it's unclear whether she's actually forgetting or just never bothered to listen in the first place.

She has the ability to convince people of anything, and though this could include extreme things, she doesn't tend to apply this ability to its potential, instead using it to convince people to buy her food and house her for a while, and convince people that she's trustworthy even when she's known to steal.

Prior to her death, Jacklyn was a human of a different name who for a long time was poor and destitute. Having little education and few valuable skills, she made her living through scams, lying and theft. Despite the money that she gathered from this, she still prefered to steal items, especially alcohol, as she grew obsessed with gaining and maintaining wealth. After having a run in with the yorigami siblings, she lost all of her possessions and drank herself to death.

Becoming a jack-o'-lantern was a result of a last-ditch effort to stay alive, with Jacklyn thinking of revenge using her convincing ability to strike a deal that she can never die, in exchange for her past identity as a human. Her soul was sealed in a lantern as her passing away had seperated it from her body, so her body is essentially a puppet. Giving up her identity made her unable to remember her past self, so Jacklyn gave herself a new name and found herself wandering Gensokyo endlessly, unable to remember what her goal in becoming a jack-o'-lantern. She continues to steal, lie and manipulate based on an instinctual urge, and enjoys it due to the thrill and power it provides her, but she fails to keep anything that she gains from her crimes as she forgets about them soon after.

Jacklyn is based loosly on Stingy Jack, from Irish myth. Like her inspiration, she is a deciever and a manipulator. She uses people for her own benefit and steals, and is unable to properly pass on, instead wandering Gensokyo with seemingly no purpose.

Inspired by Stingy Jack carrying a turnip torch, Jacklyn carries a lantern at all times. The lantern contains her soul, so she cannot leave it. Her body isn't capable of moving without the presence of her soul, if they somehow get seperated, her body will become catatonic. Her body, soul and lantern cannot be destoyed.

Jacklyn is an undead being with a dark grey skintone and a hollow head. Her pupils and the inside of her mouth glow, as if her head has a candle inside it. Should her body be seperated from her soul, this light will go away until they are reunited.

She has orange hair with two pigtails tied with purple ribbons, with the pigtails resembling bat wings. She doesn't wear shoes. She wears a white striped shirt with orange buttons and a dark purple collar, also resembing bat wings. Her skirt has two layers - an orange pleated skirt under a torn purple layer decorated with pumpkins and bats. Around her hips she also wears an orange belt with a pumpkin charm. Her shirt is tucked into the skirt. She also wears a tattered purple and yellow witches hat, and has bandages wrapped around three of her four limbs.

Her lantern is grey metal with yellow light inside, with an orange moon charm hanging off the bottom.

• Jacklyn has a hollow head, meaning she has no brain, skull or teeth. She senses through her soul.
• The rest of her body has organs, though because she is undead many of them do not function as normal. She can eat and drink, but she has no need for nutrients and doesn't get hungry or thirsty. She eats and drinks purely for enjoyment, and thinks of hunger and thirst as little more than a way to make people feel sorry for her.
