At first look, Sapphira's personality can be defined as shy and timid, and very closed off. This is partly due to the fact that she ranks lower in Sindel's court, playing a minor role in the overall system. She comes off as a woman of few words, and does not make any attempt to talk to strangers or anyone she hasn't talked to before.
Interestingly enough, Sapphira is a social chameleon. Based on the person she talks to, she will match their personality and energy, so she often switches personalities. She blends in and adapts to situations she's placed in, and on occasion, will mimick others' actions if they are close enough. There are times, however, when their smug attitude will shine through, being teasing and playful should they feel like it.

FIGHTING TYPE
Xingyiquan is a style of internal Chinese martial arts. Also known as xingyi, it is characterized by aggressive, seemingly linear movements and explosive power that's most often applied from a short range.
A practitioner of xingyi uses coordinated movements to generate bursts of power intended to overwhelm the opponent, simultaneously attacking and defending. Methods vary from school to school, but always include bare-handed fighting training (mostly in single movements/combinations and sometimes in forms) and the training of weapons usage with similar or identical body mechanics to that used for bare-handed intense fighting. The most basic notions of movement and body mechanics in the art were heavily influenced by the practice of staves and spears.
WEAPON
The chicken-claw sickle was constructed from a chicken claw-like piece of metal, along with a spear head, on a length of stick. Sapphira's sickles were tailored to her liking, as requested by Li Mei, a close friend. However, they are customizable, having different skins. This is to match with the game's different skins.
MAGIC
Sapphira can control various species of butterflies. She controls them to do her bidding; for example, using them against foes, and using them to see locations and gather information. Sapphira can also understand/communicate with them, hence creating and strengthening friendships.

Sapphira does not have any anomalies. However, compared to most other Edenians, she is more chubby, as is her face. She also has a scar on her face from an injury, when she first dual-wielded emeici. The most prominent info about her face, however, is that on her forehead, she has markings in the shape of square diamonds. One large diamond rests on the center of her forehead, with two descending at the bottom of it, decreasing in size. Around the large diamond are four smaller diamonds, with two being seen halfway, as her hairline covers the tops.

CHILDHOOD
Yuri Sapphira was born to a mother and father, both of whom were royal servants. Her mother was caretaker of the gardens, and taught her everything she knew. Growing up, Sapphira always knew she would become a member of the next royal's court, more specifically, a low rank. Her status did not bother her, though, and she grew up as Kitana's younger servant for several years. The two were close friends ever since a young age, and because of this, Sapphira's mother would also become close to Sindel.
ADOLESCENCE
Growing up, Sapphira never had any reason to learn kombat. She only wanted to tend to the butterfly sanctuary that resided in the gardens. However, seeing as she was Kitana's servant at first, she would tag along whenever Kitana and Mileena were being trained by Li Mei. Because they were forced to come along, Sapphira would sometimes watch if she wasn't bored, and eventually came to realize that she, too, wanted to be trained. However, a low rank servant was not allowed to train. Because of this, Li Mei trained Sapphira in secrecy, whenever the young Edenian was not having to tend to her duties.
ADULTHOOD
When Sapphira had grown up to a mature Edenian woman, she became the lepidopterist for the royal gardens, caring for the butterfly sanctuary. Having achieved her life long goal, she spent much of her time in the butterfly sanctuary, and formed a great fondness for the small creatures. Fondness turned to friendship, and eventually, Sapphira had become so attached, she had accidentally learned how to manipulate butterflies. She only learned of this when she was training in the sanctuary, and her favorite butterfly had flown onto her chicken-claw sickles, as if following its movements.
