Don’t ask what Mak is willing to do for Hog. His brother needs to cheat on a test? He has the answers written on his sock. His brother needs a body buried? He has the shovel. If Hog wanted this world to burn- Mak would hold the gasoline. The two have known eachother for nearly a decade, and Mak is highly supportive of Hog and his dream of becoming the clam blitz king.
Hog wouldn’t have made it so far without his brother Mak, the two are practically a side of the same coin. Hog loves and cherishes Mak, and is often the one who knows exactly how he feels even if Mak doesn’t emote. Can you feel the clams call out for us bro- we got one more game to play! The two have known each other the longest, and Hog made a blood oath to always be friends. Hog will always listen to what Mak has to say, and is Mak’s biggest confidant and hype man.
Mak can never judge Geo, often smoking listening to Geo deepest secrets with understanding. Geo is the only one to make Mak crack a smirk or laugh softly. Mak is very observant of Geo’s personality and habits, the first one to know when something is wrong. Mak relates and sympathizes with Geo’s pats, and the two shared many words and tears. That being said, Mak is the most tired of bailing Geo out of trouble. He’s the first to mutter about leaving Geo for the scallops but with love.
Geo deeply trusts Mak as his “Gutter Brother”, he can tell Mak any secret because he knows Mak has already done it or worse. Geo looks to Mak as both his older brother and yet his equal. The two have a very comedic relationship, Geo over acting to Mak’s straight laced answers. The two swap make up tips are the two often go out at night to clubs together. Geo is the one who suggested Mak wear suits.
To say it was awkward at first would be mild- the two barely spoke to each other because of a misunderstanding that they hated each other. Mak didn’t know how to bridge that distance even when they apologized for the past. Believing that Man liked Hog and Geo better, Mak thought Man was being distant. After the two were confronted about this and spoke about it- they became much closer. The two can be found reading and training together, Mak sneaking sweets for Man (totally not because he also has a sweet tooth). Mak appreciates having help in reigning in Hog and Geo- when he’s not enabling them.
Man was terrified of Mak at first, believing they Mak hated him because he was so intimidating. After all, Man said awful things about the two people that Mak holds dearest to his heart. After Hog and Geo forced them both to talk about their issues, they realized this was a misunderstanding on both of their parts. Closing the distance, Man became a close friend to Mak- someone to quietly spend time with. While these two clash the most, they’re much more civil and quiet about it. Man appreciates Mak dearly for being a level head and helping him reign in Hog and Geo- when he’s not joining in. Man can get frustrated with Mak’s listless attitude, but at the same time he protects Mak on the battle field. Man appreciates that no matter what- he can rely on Mak.
If any one of the boys was a mama’s boy when they were young, it was Mak. Mak had separation anxiety when he was a smaller squid, and couldn’t be apart from Thieu without growing upset. He clung to her skirt, followed her everywhere and usually helped her in the kitchen because of this. Thieu is one of the few people that Mak feels that can protect him, and gave him a safe home and freed him from his parents control. Mak is usually the one helping Thieu with chores, especially cooking and cleaning after the boys.

Her eldest son that she can trust when she’s put in a tough situation. Thieu never thought of Mak as strange, even when she first met him. She was a bit hurt when he refused her help but never held it against him as she let Hog continue his friendship with him. After learning of his circumstances, she understood his situation more and takes him in as her own son to lessen his struggles. Thieu appreciates his help a lot and often the two chat of things which let Mak see her more sassy side. Thieu often has Mak in the kitchen with her and she appreciates the dishes he makes much to her other sons’ dismay when he cooks.
