Sworn Redemption
A powerful warrior who fell during a great battle long ago and was later resurrected by a fearsome wizard.
She retains full memory of her previous life, and for the most part is able to act independently from the wizard. So far she has been left to her own devices, but should he wish to, the wizard could at any point activate and exert his dominion over her, turning her into a servant of his will.
She does not know why she was brought back or by whom. Only that she cannot die now, no matter how much she may wish it.
It would seem that her revitalization was interrupted partway through. When she focuses on it, she is able to maintain the illusion of a living form, but should her focus waver (whether due to emotional distress, or by some other means) the illusion will falter, and the reality of her deathly complexion will become momentarily visible.
✦ Despite this, she does not continue to rot, nor does she smell. It is as if something were keeping her form in a sort of magical stasis.
✦ She does not need to breathe as she is already dead.
✦ She has no need or desire to consume regular food, but once a week she has need to feed on the fresh blood and flesh of a living, sentient creature. She does not relish the act. If she refuses then she slowly declines until all that remains is a ravenous husk, acting on instinctual hunger alone. Once she has fed she becomes stable again.
✦ She used to be a druid in her previous life. Sworn to protect and cherish the verdant wilds and all living creatures that inhabit them. Now she brings a blight with her wherever she goes. Necrotic energy fills her body and the only natural things that would have anything to do with her, are the ones who have already died.
✦ She is able to resurrect certain creatures, usually only temporarily. Animals, or creatures of low intelligence, that she reanimates will act as they did in life. Sentient, thinking creatures, like those with human intelligence, will simply become mindless lesser zombies.
✦ Rather than reanimating a corpse completely, if she wishes she can instead cast speak with dead, which will allow her to ask a limited number of questions to a dead creature, and it will be compelled to answer (usually) before returning once again to death. It cannot do anything else aside from speak an answer.
✦ Any nature based spells or healing spells that she knew in life, now have become corrupted and laden with death. Most will have the opposite effect they did or will only work on undead targets. (Healing for example will cause harm to a living creature but will mend an undead one.)
