He's an English teacher who barely teaches. He likes to go on these tangents that have nothing to do with the subject, play his guitar occasionally, and even show random videos he thinks is funny. He'll only put in the time to actually teach if he's passionate about the subject. If he got to make the rules, there would be no assignments.
