Background info
April was born and raised by her parents in Calamari County. April's family (or at least her parents) weren't affiliated with the Octarian army, however they'd make monthy trips down to Octopia to let April have a sleepover with her cousins Anyo & Toby. While on a beachside walk with her mother, April found a smallfry passed out on the shore and begged her mother to let her keep it. April's mother agreed and they called the smallfry Kandi. April's mother eventually officially adopted Kandi into the family, making Kandi April's foster sister. Around the time Splatoon 3 was announced in our world, April gained an interest in ink battles and begged her parents to let her move to Inkopolis. Her parents agreed, but on one condition: April had to bring Kandi with her for protection (since April didn't own any weapons at the time). April happily agreed, and then her and Kandi set out for Inkopolis. April ended up moving into the same apartment Hope, Ashley, and Anyo were living in at the time and became close friends with Hope, whom she looked up to.
Splatoon 3 Testfire
Before the events of Splatoon 3, April & her friends traveled to Splatsville to participate in the Rock v Paper v Scissors splatfest (April was on Team Rock). During the trip, April finally got to try out some weapons. At first, she tried out weapons her friends were using, but April couldn't use any of them properly. After a while, she decided to try out the Splat Dualies and was somehow really good at using them. After the fest, April stuck to using Splat Dualies and made them her main.
Splatoon 3 (RotM)
After a raid of Inkopolis Square (by Mr. Grizz's soldiers), April and her friends temporarily relocate to Splatsville. After fighting in a few turf wars, Anyo ends up finding Ex-Cap'n Cuttlefish hiding in a manhole and runs after him, causing the entire group to follow her into the manhole. Everyone ends up at the Crater, where Cuttlefish attempts to get April and Kandi to join the New Squidbeak Splatoon, but Ashley then chimes in saying that April's already doing agent work for her. Then, as Agent 8-Bit, April and her friends go through the first few levels with ease. Despite the huge scene everyone made apon DJ Octavio's appearence, April had no clue who DJ Octavio was outside of his music (which she ocassionally listened to), but beat him up just because everyone was telling her to do so. After the fight, April and her friends end up in Alterna and meet up with Capitain 3 and the Squid Sisters. From then on, April continued to fight the mammalians & took out Deep Cut (even though she didn't want to). After the fight against Big Man, April's friend Annie gets taken away by one of Mr. Grizz's soldiers (since Annie was a mammalian at the time), which completely broke April. After her friend's kidnapping, April was determined to find Mr. Grizz and give him the ol' what for. After going through the infiltration phases, April ends up fighting Mr. Grizz just like in the cannon RotM, however a brainwashed Annie is also there with Mr. Grizz, ready to fight April. Determined to save her friend, April tries her hardest to take down Mr. Grizz and to bring Annie to her senses, but as the fight keeps going on, April becomes weaker and weaker. In a last ditch effort to save Annie, April throws Kandi at Annie at the end of the 3rd phase of the fight in hopes of Kandi being able to eat the fuzz off of Annie, which knocked Annie out in the process. At the end of the 4th phase, April blacks out and Kandi tries to wake her up, only for Mr. Grizz to blow up the rocket. April, Kandi, and Annie end up landing on the Octobot King, which caused Annie to wake up fully but only causing April to come back around just a little bit. However, when Hope and Anyo start playing a song April really enjoyed, April got the energy she needed to keep fighting. With the help of Kandi, April, while using the Octobot King, took out Mr. Grizz, and saved the world.
Splatoon 3 (Post RotM) (Around the time the Expansion Pass was first revealed)
April and her friends move to an apartment complex somewhere close to Inkopolis Plaza.

Biology
As a ghost octopus-type octoling, April's hair & swim color take on a lighter tint of her actual ink color. Her octoling ghost thing that shows up when she gets splatted is affected as well. When splatted, April's spirit takes on the form of her humanoid & swim form. April can go into ghost form on command, but only for a little while because it takes energy out of her (she can stay in ghost form for as long as she wants if she gets splatted, or at least until she gets sucked into a respawn point). April also has a few extra abilities in ghost form like flying, walking through walls, and electronic interference. Also, April has a decresed need for food in both physical and ghost form. Her family is one of few families of ghost octopus-type octolings out there.
Other info:
- April enjoys tinkering with technology & customizing weapons. She even helped Hope customize her reefslider to look like Prince Sidon from Breath of the Wild.
- April's favorite bands include the Squid Sisters, Chirpy Chips, Off the Hook/Damp Socks, and H2Whoa.
- April maintains curly tentacles in swim form.
- April's birthday is on the same day as mine :)
