Salem was born to a Witch and a Vampire. He was expected to have at least magical abilities from the pair, but ended up showing none of the signs he came from either parent. Seen as a disgrace to his parents, he was shunned or took the brunt of their 'experimentation'. He has many scars inflicted by both of his parents. He is mentally weakened, and often afraid. He spends as much time as he can outdoors away from his parents. When he was at his lowest point, about to give up on life in general, a spirit found him. The spirit seemed to be dangerous, dark and twisted, and he was terrified of it. However, it seemed to take a liking towards him, and has stuck around him to be his guide and friend. The two are now inseparable.
