original idea was that they were cursed for whatever reason and the jellyfish looking amulet on the side of their waist keeps the curse kind of like in check. Yknow like prevents it from worsening at all. Idk what bro did to end up cursed, but they deserved it and refuse to acknowledge that part of the curse in front of others. Also the amulet so happens to be a very expensive and sought after piece of treasure, so this guy is constantly being harassed by thieves of the sorts instead of just owning up to the the reason they were cursed and fixing it.
