OVERVIEW

Frank is best known for being an internet funnyman, writing comedy-centric absurdist songs akin to Bo Burnham and Neil Ciceregra. Most of the time he bounces between acting as a band/concert backup musician, DJ, and an occasional busker. Where ever the sound will take him, he'll ride!

LIKES

  • anti-establishment messages in media
  • expression that is LOUD (volume or statement)
  • energy drinks, alcohol, soda, citrus, sour, spice, sugar
  • mood lighting: lava lamps, LEDs, dim bars
  • free-to-play/card games

DISLIKES

  • wearing clothes that trail more than a foot behind him
  • using his corrective goggles outside of aesthetic off-stage
  • extremely expensive and/or fragile objects
  • accidentally zapping people when he gets wet
  • being unable to decipher his drunken chicken-scratch

TRIVIA

  • He carries a flip phone because doomscrolling social media tanked his mental health. His smartphone is in a drawer at home and is used only for mobile games that Frank has dumped an insane amount of time and money into.
  • His movements naturally carry a slight swaying rhythm, head bobbing like in the Mystery Skulls Animated series.
  • All of his dialogue is written in lowercase due to personality inspiration from Sans the Skeleton.

PERSONALITY

Frank is an extroverted and easygoing soul, always willing to give a helping hand to the people, especially as an excuse to meet someone new. He loves comedy, spitting out the corniest material he can imagine at any given moment to guage who he can goat a chuckle or two out of. Given his can detach his limbs like velcro, he frequently pulls of his own hand for a quick practical joke, or to practice his beloved electric guitar while he's doing something else.

He is very attached to his guitar and brings it with him everywhere. It's decked out with all kinds of magic, with a panel on the back that transforms into a laptop, mini-keyboard, storage space, really whatever Frank needs. The constant electricity running through him powers it without any external tools necessary, too! He very proud of that sustainability and gets a little anxious without it in line of sight.

He connects best to people through music. His philosophy is that with how varied genres can be, you can tell so much about what makes a person unique through how they interact with music and what genres they're into. Uniqueness is one of his top values. Even the most "normal" people have something about them that makes them stand out. Sometimes "cooky" people act more exuberant than is natural for them, but that's still a choice that may have an interesting motivation behind it. So in his mind, everyone is worth talking to at least once. Even if he messes it up he can hopefully try again another time!

When he's upset, he's the kind of person who falls quiet and shuts down, with a big chance to wave it off like it didn't effect him at all to work out privately later. Unfortunately, he rarely gets to the later. His avoidance of the bigger issues can be a big hindrance to maintaing relationships with a history of strain, even if it would be best for both parties to work it out through conversation. His way of "working it out" is through gift-giving. Say he hurt someone and didn't know how to apologize, they'd wake up one morning with an anonymous box of goodies at the door and he'd call it square.

For him it's more making the person feel better than asking that person to do the heavy lifting of forgiving him, because all in all he's pretty self-assured. That confidence is what's kept him carrying on.

ABILITIES

As a Franken-monster cloth creature and a talented musician, Mr. Victorious certainly has a lot under his proverbial belt to celebrate. He's not one to openly gloat, but he is the type of guy to show off if someone will get a kick out of it, even if that "someone" is just himself.

POWERS

  • Electrokinesis: The surge that gave him life still courses through his cotton. He's constantly emitting a mild static, sometimes shocking people without meaning too. Luckily to him it's a small price to pay to keep his gear always charged.
  • Magic Stitches: He can easily remove his still-functional limbs at various points along his body. These seperation points are at his neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, and knees. They seal back on immediately upon contact. The stitches that don't undo are the ones that make up the light half of his face, stomach, and thighs due to being not being related to where joints would be.
  • Animation: With intensive energy consumption, Frank can shock inanimate objects to life. He can also take it away from them but finds doing such morally reprehensible especially if they appear notably sentient.

SKILLS

  • Public Speaking: He's usually pretty savvy at keeping what he has to say clean, cut, and simple, seeing little reason to flower things up. And he also adores the attention of a crowd!
  • Musicality: His specialty is in electronic instruments like his electric guitar, the keytar, keyboard, and EDM. However, he's made it a point to learn every instrument he can get his hands on! He struggles the most with wind instruments because it takes a lot of effort to close his mouth to blow, the cloth around his lips being naturally pulled back into a smile.
  • Hands-On: His desire to constantly wriggle his fingers has lots of benefits outside of music too: typing, sewing, sculpting, carving. Really whatever he's allowed to touch, Frank's gunning for it! He craves sensory experiences that are tactile and meticulous.

BACKSTORY

Frank was brought to life as a soul-infused muppet for a Venetian Carnival sideshow as the female "bride" counterpart to a Frankenstein's monster parody duo. Due to an outlaw of magic in their homeland the troupe began jumping between realms, constantly on the run for snake oil salesman and other various swindling crimes. Frank, originally named Francheska at the time, was in servitude to the carny "doctor" against her will and hadn't slipped away until they troupe tried their shtick in Mahou Wando. The patrol detained the operation and Francheska was then free from the whole ordeal indefinitely.

Her and Steiner, the large pink husband of their duo, tried to make it solo for a little while. He wanted to marry her for real even! His plan was to reinvent their act from a hate-your-wife boomer "comedy" to something heartfelt and genuine. But something about it felt wrong to her still. Being with Steiner was all she'd ever known, and she yearned to learn what she was without him. It deeply saddened him, but he respected her decision.

She spent her time traveling the realm to learn more about herself. Slowly they began to realize why they'd felt so disconnected from their identity this whole time. They felt no connection to being a woman at all! In fact, he had always felt more like a man masquerading as a woman the whole time. Only now with the freedom to be himself did he realize that.

He chose to reinvent himself through exploring different music genres: rock, indie, alt, ska, reggae, whatever he could get his hands on. Stepping away from the strung-up tight laces of the carnival into something unfiltered and raw. But he never lost his love of comedy either. He yearned to make something truly funny! To laugh along with his audience this time.

He named himself his mantra by dawning the moniker Freaky Frank as his love for the weird grew, and as one last reclamative "fuck you" to anyone who still thought being strange or different was a bad thing.

RELATIONSHIPS

Steiner | Ex-Fake Husband

Years within his shadow has seeded some resentment in Frank. When the person who is meant to love and protect you the most acts as a string in the instrument of your ridicule for so long, you can only forgive so much. There was little Steiner could do in their situation. Frank realizes that. But Steiner didn't try to speak out either! He was focused on keeping them both safe, and in doing so, perpetuated the cycle of hurt by encouraging Frank to let the people take advantage him.

Nowadays things are strained and purely platonic from Frank's end. They call each other every once in a while just to check in, but that's about it.

Pumpernickel | Lil Nights Friend

These two met at a pop-up bar around Valentine's Day while unexplainably tended to by pairs of disembodied gloves. After Frank (poorly) helped Pumpernickel out of one of the bar's magical drink effects, the two ended up fairly acquainted! When Frank visited their bakery a little while after Pumpernickel accidentally served him a fake cupcake... which he ate politely anyways, no question.

Now Frank helps Pump make their fake food sometimes. Mostly because he's banned from baking because he's terrible at making it taste good, no matter how nice his decorating can be. Both practice guitar together.
