Title

Despite being a demigoddess, Penelope wasn't born with any remarkable abilities and her parents made a conscious effort not to teach her how to awaken her Cosmos. After witnessing firsthand the horrors of war, they both wished for their daughter to have a normal life away from the battlefield, with El Cid refusing to let Penelope train to become a Saint and Phantasos keeping her away from her family, who didn't even fully accept her.

As a child:

Penelope is cheerful and curious, she loves accompanying her father during patrols or while he trains, but will hide behind his cape whenever he's talking with a stranger. She gets along with most of the other Saints, being particularly close with Leo Regulus and Pyxis Rusk which she considers almost like some sort of older brothers, however she sometimes misses having playmates closer to her own age and tends to wander off to the Sanctuary's borders to play by herself.

As a teen:

as she grows older, Penelope becomes more aware of her unique family situation and her curiosity gets the best of her. She searches for anwsers anywhere she can think of, ignoring her parents warnings and starts pondering where her own loyalty lies if it weren't for her blood ties. She also becomes disillusioned with the fact that her parents wanted her to have a normal life as a civilian and thus never taught her how to use her Cosmos, which causes some self-esteem issues and makes her feel useless in the Sanctuary. This, in turn, makes her gravitate towards Hades' army and the Dream Gods (her uncles) despite Phantasos warnings not to. Deep down Penelope is still the same cheerful girl she was in her childhood, but she feels torn apart between two worlds, unaware that the conflict between Athena and Hades goes much deeper than she thinks.

Relationships.
VII

Capricorn El Cid (Father)

Penelope loves him dearly and looks up to him, always accompanying him durings his patrols or trainings. However, El Cid forbade her from trying to become a Saint, which would cause friction between them as Penelope grew up. She still wants to make him proud of her.

pic00372.jpg

Portrayer Phantasos (Mother)

Although Phantasos is a caring mother, her duties often kept her busy and she deliberately lied to Penelope about her uncles in an attempt to protect her, which she didn't appreciate. As she grows up and learns more about her family, Penelope becomes more and more alienated from her mother, much to Phantasos' concerns.

pic00457.jpg

Dream Oneiros (Uncle)

Penelope barely knew anything about her uncles and had no contact with them until her teenage years, when she met Oneiros by chance for the first time. Penelope sees him as a mentor figure and a link to her mother's side of the family, which she desperately craves to connect with, unaware that Oneiros' intentions for approaching her might be a lot more dishonest.

pic00214.jpg

Vision Icelus (Uncle)

Icelus firmly refuses to acknowledge Penelope as her niece (or as a demigoddess), and he's the main reason why Phantasos doesn't want her daughter getting involved with the Dream Gods. Penelope doesn't personally know him, and it's probably better that way.

pic00213.jpg

Sagittarius Sisyphus (Godfather)

He's El Cid's neighbor and closest friend but also a kind, fun guy, so of course Penelope adores him. When things would go sour with her parents, Penelope would seek Sisyphus' company, knowing that he would listen to whatever was tormenting her and offer honest advice.

God of Sleep, Hypnos (Grandfather)

Father of the Dream Gods and twin brother to Thanatos, Hypnos disapproved of Phantasos' relationship with a Gold Saint and her decision to have his child, yet he didn't interfere with said decision. Due to his rank, he doesn't interact that much with his children and has never met Penelope personally, but it seems he doesn't dislike her as much as the others...
