Name Lostsong

Former Names Lostkit
Lostpaw

Gender She/her

Orientation Pan

Mentor Shorttail (Formerly)

Rank Warrior

Residence Windclan
Kittypet (formerly)

Age 27 moons

APPEARANCE

A dainty, fluffy brown she-cat with grey classic tabby stripes and white markings. She has vivid green eyes, small ears, and a bobbed tail.

Personality

She's quite the friendly cat but usually her quiet nature makes her fade into the background when she's not socializing. She tends to make rational decisions over going with her emotions, though can be a little too quick to trust at times. If she sees a cat who looks like they could use a friend she will try to become their friend. Not much of a fighter, she prefers to flee or avoid battle as best she can and tends to be passive and more likely to agree rather than argue. Having been abandoned as a kit, she does get anxious at times over being left alone and prefers having someone to socialize with, even if they just end up merely sharing space in silence. She's always curious to hear about life in other clans, though she's very happy living in her current clan.

History

PRE-RP(23 moons at start of rp)

The young molly was born and raised by parents she no longer remembers beyond memories of warm fur, soft pelts from their twoleg, and the bell collar that was fun to bat around at with a tiny paw. Days outside in the garden were fun and she sometimes wondered what life was like beyond the wooden borders of the white fence. Unfortunately, one day her littermates began to disappear. Other twolegs would come, picking them up and carrying them off. Being the smallest and quietest, she seemed overlooked; eventually, she was the only remaining kit. Her mother assured her that one day she'd go to a new home like they had.

Perhaps it wasn't quite what her mother meant but she'd be taken into a car one fateful day by their twolegs. The strange thing carried them far from home, going past forests and swamps and stopping next to open fields not far from a barn. They'd let her out then, placing her onto the earth and leaving before she'd gotten her bearings. The lost kit wandered, alone and fearful now that she realized she'd been left to fend for herself.

And then a group of strange cats found her. Taking her back to camp, she would gain the name Lostkit after hearing her tale—and due to her bobbed tail almost mimicking a lost tail. It was a difficult moon to adjust to living in the wild. Part of her still missed the luxuries of her former life. But she couldn't go back and the kit would learn to like her new home, embracing the fact cats seemed to look out for each other here.

Lostpaw would become an apprentice a moon after joining, as she'd reached six moons, which seemed to be important to the clan. Her mentor, Shorttail, would try to teach the young she-cat how to come out of her shell with varying levels of success. Overtime though, Lostpaw grew more independent and what she lacked in confidence she made up for with patients and rational. She seemed to bloom, her own personality coming forth and her previous life sheltered as a kittypet vanished as she got the chance to explore the world. It was vastly obvious she wasn't cut out for battles, as she tried to avoid battle practice whenever possible, but her mentor was thankfully understanding and pulled more focus into things like hunting. Perhaps it was lucky she'd avoided the horrors Windclan had gone through.

Lostsong would eventuallly go on to earn her warrior name shortly after losing her mentor to sickness, though her clanmates cheering for her made the event a happy one. For the most part, Lostsong has spent her days socializing with clanmates and any friendly cats she meets at the borders.

DURING RP

Tensions had always been high with Shadowclan since she'd joined. It made her nervous, though more recently things have felt like they were finally calming down. Lostsong has for the most part kept to herself lately, keeping quiet and focusing on observing things. Star Clan sent cats on a mission? That was new. She didn't hold much faith in Star Clan, but perhaps it was because she held no connections to warrior ancestors.

Who would've thought that mission would've resulted in chaos though upon the return of the Windclan cats! Lightningstar's announcement had seemed to shake things up in the clan. Cats were leaving? It alarmed her! Why would they leave their home? How many cats would be left for her to talk and patrol with? The yowling of one of the apprentices honestly scared her, though the poor injured cat's brother would run off and leave him behind. Lostsong herself would stay quiet throughout the meeting. What was there to say against a clan who took her in after her twolegs dumped her? They were family to her, even if she wished she had real kin.

Strangely, Lightningstar brought them to the gathering late. Lostsong spotted a group of cats gathered around the deputies almost immediately upon entering the clearing and began to make her way over before spotting a cat she'd never seen before. Noticing they looked lost, she changed course and went to talk to them instead. It was swiftly made clear this Thunderclanner wasn't used to so much and Lostsong offered to sit with them at the edges of the clearing where Hazelwish might feel more comfortable. She would try to encourage the other molly, even learning that not only was Hazelwish unused to going to gatherings, but was rather newly reintroduced to clan life! It explained a lot and she tried to emphasize with learning how to adapt to clan life, mentioning her own experiences.

Unfortunately, a loud rumble from the brewing storm and flashes of lightning scarred Hazelwish off. Knowing that her knew friend—at least in her mind, a friend—could get into trouble if she was caught tresspassing or got lost in the storm, Lostsong ran after her. Fear scent took her near the dark path cars, or monsters as the clans called them, ran along. Bright light and loud rumbling whizzed past on the path as if running home from the storm as well. It would take a bit to find Hazelwish in an abandoned badger den but the sound of sobbing alerted her to the Thunderclanner and she did what she could to provide some assurance that this was only a storm and not some supernatural work of dead cats. With some gentle encouragement, Lostsong would manage to walk Hazelwish to the border before heading home herself before Windclan could miss her.

Over the passing leafbare moons it would only get colder. Soft fur nearly constantly fluffed up in an attempt to keep warm, Lostsong felt miserable. She would try to hide away in her warm nest when possible but some days even it felt cold; such was the life of living on an open moore. Worse yet, large predatory birds had been flocking in the leafbare weather and an owl also seemed to be more active. It made her nervous when hunting. She'd seen some of them carry off large hares and could only imagine how easily one could carry her off!

It was the owl that caused her trouble. Lostsong had gone out to hunt with a patrol but ended up further from them than planned after chasing a particularly fast rabbit. Silent wings would've gone unnoticed, talons easily capable of sinking into her pelt had the shadow of the bird not given her warning. Fear guided her paws as a yowl for her patrol escaped. While the owl never touched her—thankfully grabbing the rabbit she'd been after instead—Lostsong tripped over a burrow and sprained her paw. Nothing Graytalon couldn't fix but she was still pained by the wound. She did enjoy the nest-rest though, as it meant staying in a nice warm den and nest.

TRIVIA

  • Voice Claim: Tiya Sircar
  • Despite growing up as a warrior, she still has a desire to be pampered and likes making her nest extra soft with fur from prey
  • Sometimes wonders about her littermates and what they're up to
  • Mother was a pure manx cat. Whether her father was or not is unknown, as she never met him
  • Doesn't mind the 'Lost' prefix, as it's special to her due to it being her first name. Lightningstar gave her the '-song' suffix for her social personality and to avoid using any physical descriptors as a suffix.
SEEKING

  • Friends and Enemies from any clan.
  • A Mate, can be from any clan. She is considering kits someday
  • She currently doesn't have an apprentice and can be a mentor if needed
