Profile

Yamazi Morimoto is a planned player character to be used in a series of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition oneshots.

Formerly a changeling bard from the planet Thalron, Yamazi was born in the year 1832 DR to Taichi and Suzume Morimoto in the country of Qasol on the eastern continent. She had a knack for music from a young age and always wished to make others happy wherever she goes.

She never thought she’d have her wish granted in this way. At some point, Yamazi acquired a cosmic debt from an archfey ancestor and was contracted as a clown in an interdimensional circus due to her prior experience in entertainment. The interdimensional circus is based in Sigil, The City of Doors, which resides at the center of the multiverse. The circus is run by loan sharks / debt creditors who operate the circus as a form of debt repayment for cosmic criminals.

Those who are contracted into the circus are not allowed to leave the circus under any circumstances, and have next to no control over where and when the circus travels, often leading to clowns being left behind or scattered across multiple worlds. The circus' only goals are to spread joy and cheer wherever it goes, and assign their clowns on adventures to give them something to do to pass the time, sometimes giving them tasks to fulfill or people to help. If a clown in the interdimensional circus should die, their soul will respawn in their "home plane" on Sigil, and their body will be reconstituted for further use until their debt is repaid.
