BACKSTORY:

Spike is a ghost who doesn't know how he died.

He grew up in a rural part of Ireland. At some point, he died, but he doesn't remember any of this. All he remembers is waking up on a hilltop early in the morning, surrounded by fog and sparkling dew. He awoke as a formless cloud of ectoplasm with no features. However, he soon learned how to change his appearance at will, and proceeded to copy traits from people he saw until he had a body for himself.

Nowadays, Spike spends most of his time haunting old buildings and playing pranks on humans.

PERSONALITY:

Positive: Loyal / Friendly / Humorous / Adventurous

Negative: Destructive / Nosy / Reckless / Greedy

Spike is, by nature, mischievous and lighthearted. He has a childish love of jokes and games that leads him to spend most of his time seeking out new ways to have fun. He doesn't intend to harm anyone, but his sense of humour is a little skewed; it's not uncommon for him to terrify or even hurt people without meaning to.

Despite his love of mischief, Spike's heart is in the right place. He's loyal to his friends and shows his more supportive side when they really need it. He can often tell when a friend is upset and knows when it's time to be serious (even if he doesn't like being serious). He's physically affectionate and likes rough, boisterous games and roughhousing.

Spike can be a bit oblivious, especially in regards to unspoken rules, gender stereotypes and cultural norms.

DESIGN:

Spike has pale grey skin, white hair, and yellow eyes with black sclera. His hair flops over his forehead, completely covering his right eye. It has a very soft texture. He usually wears a red polo shirt and loose-fitting blue trousers.

He wears a necklace of his own making, which is an old bronze key threaded on a string.

ABILITIES:

Spike can freely pass through objects and people. However, he can also make himself tangible to physically interact with things. 

He can freely alter parts of his appearance at will, including his height, hairstyle, outfit, and eye colours. However, he can't change his skin or hair colours.

He is invisible to most. Only a few people (usually known as 'The Gifted') can see and hear him.

RELATIONSHIPS:

 William

William is Spike's best friend. The two ghosts met by chance while exploring the same old building, and Spike immediately attached himself to William in a 'I'm your friend now whether you like it or not' kind of way. However, they truly care about each other. Sometimes the poltergeist's activities take them far apart, but they always find each other again in the end. They have a very affectionate (albeit platonic) relationship.

Anita

Becoming friends through William, Anita and Spike get along well enough, but aren't particularly close.

TRIVIA:

-  Very prone to experiencing deja vu; this can frustrate him somewhat.

- He does speak with a slight Irish accent, but that's because he spent years in Ireland as a ghost, not because he remembers speaking that way in life.

- Has a habit of calling people by their surnames rather than their first names.

- Does not refer to himself as a girl, boy, or anything similar, but simply as a ghost or poltergeist.

- Can play the recorder.

- Never dreams.
