Profile

Name: Verona
Species: Immortal Servant, Formerly Human
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Age: 36 (In Appearance)
Height: 5'4"
Origin: Noxus (Currently resides in Ixtal)
Personality: Beautiful and Regal, she holds herself incredibly well and intimidates and/or enthralls many. Well disciplined, patient, eloquent and talented. She is strong-willed, and can be quite stubborn on certain matters. She holds her tongue well, but has a bad temper when provoked enough. Fiercely loyal to her family.
About: In her youth, Verona was known far and wide for her beauty, and bloodline, being the descendant of a famous warrior, and daughter of a noble family. Those who actually knew her knew her for that too, but more so her abilities and person. She is an incredibly talented warrior and sorceress, having incredibly strength and wits about her. Before her arranged marriage, she was a mercenary once she turned 18 and made a name for herself as the "Lightning Goddess" in her 20s. Unfortunately, after her 25th birthday, her parents grew worried she would lose her appeal, especially with her habits and attitude towards getting married, and so they arranged her to be married to the noble son of a nearby city. Verona was less than thrilled and fought it the best she could, but when her parents assured her there was no choice in the matter, she gave up and accepted it. Upon meeting him, at first it did not seem it would be so bad, her husband-to-be, Mikael, appeared to be a genuinely good man that was loved by his people. She spent time with him before the wedding, learning about him and fell in love with him. She more than happily married him and for their first few years, they were a happy couple.

After the first two years went by though, Mikael started acting differently. He paid less and less attention to his wife and she began to see the side of him that he kept hidden. Verona would bring up these changes in behavior to him and he would say nothing, telling her she was "just imagining it" or "nothing was wrong." In truth, he was happy to have possession of one of the most beautiful women in the lands, but she wasn't enough for him. Soon after, he would start bringing other women around, and even after she caught him, he wouldn't stop. She snapped at him one day, and he snapped back at her, telling her, "Where would she go? Who would believe her? She had no one here and it would be easy for him to rub her out without anyone asking a second thing." She slowly began to realize, Mikael was right. She was trapped in a cage of his own making, his people wouldn't believe her, her parents wouldn't believe her. As a result, she became resigned, accepting this fate and beginning to just go along with everything.

This was until by chance, she would happen to meet Kenno. With time, she would make friends with him and eventually fall in love. She stayed with him for as long she could until she was forced to return to her husband's side. After she was taken away from him, she found out she was pregnant, but she knew it wasn't by Mikael. She knew she needed to return to Kenno, but Mikael quite literally trapped her by getting a curse, that would forbid her from leaving, put on her necklace. She had her son, and Mikael knew nothing of Kenno thankfully, so he had no doubts the boy was his. Verona would care for him most of the time, and Mikael would hold his usual front around the boy, trying to shape his successor in his image. Verona was very wary of him however, and vowed to protect her son the best she could despite how her husband deceived him now. Somehow, some years later, Mikael did eventually find out the truth, after getting his wife pregnant once again, and confronted her about it. She would not tell him the boy's real father, but she assured him that he would be nothing like him. Infuriated, he promised her that the boy would be dealt with and once he had a proper heir, she would be too. Fearing for her son's life, she then exhausted many resources trying to find someway to ensure Mikael couldn't murder her boy, and one day a witch of death came to her, promising her that if she swore her life to the goddess of death, her son would be safe. She did so, and so when Mikael attempted to off her son in a place she could not be, her son came home without him, beaten, bloodied, but alive. She sobbed for hours upon seeing him safe, but knew exactly what this meant, and what would come. She would stay strong in the face of it though, and when death finally came for her after her other son was born, she accepted it. Now in eternal servitude to the goddess of death, Verona once again has some free will, and has been granted the chance to live with Kenno, her new husband, but for fear of having her family hunted down upon finding out Verona has become a servant of death, she has not been able to see her sons in ages...
