Tsuki
reclusive. forsaken . distant.
'May the moon remind you that in order to find the light,
you must first travel through the darkness."
Overview .
. Moths are quite a rare sight in Hallownest, almost entirely forgotten, and Tsuki is no exception. He was a lone traveller of the ruined kingdom, with the intention of attempting to bring back the Radiance after being betrayed by the rest of his kind; though his methods did not reflect the peaceful beliefs of his tribe. He made his way to Hallownest ofter the disappearance of the Radiance from the tribe's plains, when she had been contained within the sealed vessel. He was the only one of his tribe who was able to resist the Pale Light from Hallownest's ruler.

Design .
- Tsuki wears his cloak at ALL times, he does not allow himself to be seperated from it under any circumstance.
- The eye-like patterns on the back of his wings sometimes decieved the lesser bugs of Hallownest, mistaking them for the eyes of a larger creature.
- His antennae are quite alot larger compared to most moths, almost resembling a pair of feathers.
- The necklace he wears is a part of his cloak, and just like the cloak, he's never seen without it.

Story .
The Moth Tribe
Tsuki was one of many moths spawned by the light of the Radiance to be a part of the Moth Tribe. Before the arrival of the Pale King, his life was somewhat peaceful, content with his time in the immortal realm. However this changed when the Pale wyrm had showed up, all moths followed his lead and eventually forgot about their creator.. except for Tsuki. He was the only one who was able to resist the Pale Light. One by one, everyone he had ever known had forgotten about not only the light that spawned them, but him too, in a matter of moments. Now just imagine how that feels. Being instantly forgotten about as if you had never existed, by those who meant the most to you.
Hallownest
Some time after the moths' disappearance, the Radiance was next to vanish without a trace, having been contained within the sealed vessel. Tsuki waited, and waited... and waited, for her, or someone else to miraculously return to his home, where he had been on his own for who knows how long.
He eventually used the Dream Nail as a last resort to travel to Hallownest, something he always swore he would never do. By the time he arrived in Hallownest, the infection hadn't spread out across the kingdom so serverely just yet. He travelled there with the intention of finding the Radiance, trying to revive the memories of her that had faded away into almost nothing.
The Infection
The Infection. A deadly plague that manifested from the wrath of the Ancient Light, and the reason for the downfall of Hallownest. To all other bugs, the infection is a deadly disease, controlling their minds, enslaving them to the Radiance's will in an attempt to be remembered. However to Tsuki, it is more like a spark of hope, something to show him that she's still there, that his creator had not completely faded away. Despite the effects of the infection, both mentally and physically, Tsuki was able to retain some of his will, he still knew what his intentions were, and he planned to use the infection to his advantage. Eventually the infection began to progress, severely, destroying his body and mind just like every other infected bug in Hallownest. As it worsened, his abilities were strengthened, although he wasn't able to control them as well anymore, accidentally summoning his dream-born orbs & nails, putting an end to bugs that crossed their paths. He began to lose sense of who he was and why he was here, why he wasn't at home, and focused solely on preaching, rather mindlessly, to the bugs of Hallownest about his tribe and creator.
Trivia .
- He is capable of magic very similar to the Radiance, summoning orbs and nails. These abilities are strengthened when he embraces the Infection.
- His cloak and necklace were a gift to him during his childhood. They were given to who he viewed as a parental figure during that time before they passed.
- During his time in Hallownest, his favourite place was the Hallownest's Crown. Not only did he enjoy the solitude and the quiet, it was nice to be able to admire a statue of his creator, the sole reason he travelled to the ruined kingdom in the first place. Although its sorry state can be a distraction to said peace sometimes...
- He has much hatred for others of his kind after what they did. If he happened to meet another moth in Hallownest, he more than likely wouldn't treat them so kindly.
- All moths are born with abilities similar to the Radiance (more specifically the orbs and the nails), but most didn't care to master them due to their peaceful beliefs, they never thought it to be necessary. Tsuki however had practiced them all through his childhood, making him one of the only members of the tribe to make use of these powers.
Possible Dialogue?
- [To the bugs of Hallownest] "Look all around you! Watch as this DAWN BREAKS! Isn't it wonderful?"
- [Dream Nailed by the Knight] "Wretched wonderer... I prefer my mind to not be intruded upon. Where did you even find such an item?"
- [To the Knight] "What brings your vile, empty self to the top of this kingdom? I have no words for you. Leave me to my peace, lest you suffer the same fate as those lifeless bugs below us."
An old friend of Tsuki's. She never had any respect for the Radiance or the moth tribe, something Tsuki always found really irritating, he still cared about her despite this and her incredibly stubborn personality. Became very concerned for her when she decides to plan an attempt to escape the Dream Realm.
Soleil acted as a parental figure during Tsuki's childhood, even if he would never admit it. He taught Tsuki to use his magic, something most moths didn't too due to their peaceful beliefs. He gave him his cloak and necklace shortly before he passed, the only thing Tsuki has to remember his life in the tribe.
