No one knows exactly when Gumdrop started driving the train. In fact, we don't even know their age. But it's not like the passengers actually care for this as Gumdrop is one of the kindest drivers around. When they're not in the front carriage of the train, humming some tune while using his magic to make the train go to the next universes, it means they're interacting with the passengers, playing and having fun while taking care of everyone. They make sure no one is left out so everyone has fun on their way to their new homes. Whenever one or more sad new passengers arrive, they do their best to lift their spirits and make them feel at home — because, after all, the Express Orphanage is their temporary home.
