Fun facts
- Merrick’s eyes always have an illuminating glow to them. Some people find them to be unsettling, especially in the dark.
- Merrick’s favorite food when he was alive was shepard’s pie!
- He thinks of Marlowe as the daughter he never had. He is extremely protective of her.
- Being a ghost, Merrick can walk through walls with ease. He has a bit of a mischievous side and enjoys scaring Lackadaisy’s patrons from time to time.
- Though he is happy to be back, Merrick often becomes frustrated when he isn’t able to do the things he once was able to when he was alive. He especially misses being able to give hugs.
ReferenceA restless spirit that was reawakened by Marlowe discovering his possessions hidden under the floorboards of her house. Despite his tragic past, he is still as generous and kindhearted as he was when he was alive. Thanks to Marlowe opening up and reading a coverup letter her father wrote about him, Merrick’s spirit came back to protect her, warning her that she shouldn’t have read the letter. Marlowe backed into the corner of her living room while Merrick stepped closer and closer towards her. She had no choice but to raise her head and face this strange figure. Upon opening her eyes, Marlowe began to cry. It was her father’s old business partner, Mr. Goldwin. She remembered how kind he was to her all those years ago when he gave her her first record. Merrick was the reason she had such a love for music. Merrick Goldwin had disappeared one day and had never came back, despite Marlowe’s constant efforts to search for him. Merrick explained to her what really happened when he went missing.
Marlowe couldn’t believe what she was hearing! They had to escape, her father’s secret was out. Desperate to help and guide the daughter of his murderer away, Merrick lead Marlowe to stay at the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. Though not the safest choice, Merrick trusted the Lackadaisy gang with all his heart and knew that they would take good care of Marlowe. Merrick now resides at Lackadaisy as well, trying to move on with his afterlife.
