Uncle

Uncle is the epitome of clinical depression; chronically fatigued, demotivated, and emotionally volatile, he’s a tired college student constantly battling to achieve just a couple moments of mental stability. With humor as his primary coping mechanism, he’s constantly cracking jokes and making light of the terrible things, occasionally to an insensitive extent. His overall perception of the world is harshly negative and critical, and he struggles to feel happy for those around him, instead experiencing anger and sadness at their personal achievements. He favors honesty and is a bad liar, which tends to cause problems when combined with his severe pessimism and harsh judgments. 

He’s prone to frequent outbursts, as he’s easily frustrated and emotionally sensitive. Perhaps thankfully, he’s not a very physically violent individual, and most of his anger is directed towards himself. He’s constantly overcome with self-hatred and struggles with poor self-esteem. He’s a huge worrywart, with his spiraling thoughts most often focused on how others perceive him.

Background

Uncle is stuck in a constant downwards spiral of experiencing severe guilt at his ongoing unhappiness. With two loving (?) boyfriends, a decent education, and a safe place to live, he doesn’t understand his inability to be satisfied with himself and his lifestyle, and is constantly bashing himself for it. He has no notable history of mistreatment or abuse, and therefore finds himself unjustified in his struggle with mental illness. Sadly, his mental health has declined to the point that he’s heavily averse to treatment under the impression that his struggles are part of his identity. He attempted treatment when he was younger, but when it didn’t work out, he was discouraged from it as a whole and now refuses to seek it out.

-He's in a relationship with both Wilben and Sloth. 

-When stressed, he tends to tug on his ears.

-While his hygiene is surprisingly decent, his sleep and dietary habits are extremely poor, and he has difficulty finding the energy to clean up his messes.

-He’s a huge crybaby, though mostly in private.

-He has a complicated relationship with sex; alongside being sex-repulsed, he’s long struggled with erectile dysfunction, and keeps medication around the house for the sake of his boyfriends.

-He intentionally puts no effort into his attire, both due to an overall lack of energy and the mindset that he isn’t good enough to be dressing well in the first place.

-He has a special fondness for stuffed animals, as they make him feel less lonely; he keeps a small stash in his closet.

-His favorite meal is Sloth's pork buns.
