Profile

Prymrose Sommer is a wood elf paladin hailing from the ancient nation of Vanandos. Growing up in a small community, Prymrose was taught to value his family, his neighbors, and the surrounding nature. As a kid, he would run around with his best friend, Cyrus, and his twin sister, Ayda. His older brother, Carric, was a kind, caring, and responsible figure, and someone who Prymrose looked up to.

If you had asked anyone in the small community about the Sommer twins, one person who would always be brought up was Cyrus, and vice versa. The three were inseparable, spending their days running around, playing pirates, climbing trees and napping on the soft grass and moss until their parents called them home. That was, until the day Cyrus just left.

Unknown to Prymrose at the time, the new ruler of Vanandos had risen to power, the Tsara, and some had decided to move underground to avoid her rule. Cyrus and his parents were a part of that. The Sommers decided to leave too, but not with them. So, instead of migrating with them in one group, they went off on their own. Separating Prym from his home, his soft grass and his sunshine, and his best friend.

The five of them eventually settled in Solestine. With an amazing school in their reach, Ayda trained in the ways of magic, Carric learned how to fight, and Prymrose delved into nature. Carric eventually left on his own, heading up north and eventually marrying and having kids. Ayda went back to Vanandos, with a promise to Prymrose that one day, they will set things right and take their home back. While Prymore would have loved to follow his twin back home, he felt a responsibility not to leave his parents alone. He took up some sword training, in hopes to find a use for it in protecting his loved ones and others who may need his help.

It really shouldn't have been a surprise at all when Prymrose’s connection to Angharradh (AN-gar-rath) revealed itself throughout his training. Thinking back to it, his desire for protecting his home and loved ones, and his connection to nature all should have been clues. He happily swore to his life as a paladin of Angharradh, knowing that they will have his back in his efforts to love and protect and get back what was rightfully his.

As if it were a sign of fate, the next time Prymrose saw Ayda, she excitedly told him about how Angharradh had shown themself to her while studying magic, and had sworn to follow her as a cleric. Prymrose carefully and happily recounted how he had been visited by her as well, and took this to mean they were on the right path.

Prymrose spent a few decades traveling the world, visiting Ayda, and going up north to spend some time with Carric and his family up in Snowbush. Carric and Atala’s kids immediately endeared themselves to Prymrose. Whenever he came around, he would tell stories of his travels to Bryn, Del and Sai. They all called him Uncle Rose and Prymrose doesn't think that he loved anything more than seeing their smiling faces.

Prymrose will never be able to forgive himself for being unable to help Bryn in their crisis that resulted in Carric’s passing. With him being out on a different trip, and Bryn having no way of contacting him, he was useless. Bryn says it's okay, but Prymrose will always have that guilt.

But time went on. Prymrose would cycle between going where help was needed, aiding Ayda in her efforts to free Vanandos, and staying with his parents. On one of his sea missions, he met a lovely dark elf named Ivyns. They hit it off immediately, eventually forming a kinship with someone that he hasn’t felt in a very long time.

However, all good things come to an end. Not for the first time in his life, Prymrose had a best friend disappear, but this time leaving a note. The end of the note had been written “If you ever need- or want- to find me in due time, come look for me. My real name is Cyrus, and I will come to your aid. good luck, i hope life treats you well until we meet again.” He felt like an idiot for a while, for not recognizing his old friend. Despite wanting to see him, Prymrose didn't pursue a search for Cyrus right away. He knew that Cyrus wanted to do some things on his own, and he was not about to get in the way of that. He did keep eyes and ears out for him in every place he traveled, and prayed to Angharradh to keep him safe.

Prymrose eventually settled back in Vanandos with his twin, putting all his effort into aiding her. He awoke one morning, frustrated with the fact that a small faction of his and Ayda’s group decided to go rogue and attempt to kill the Tsara. He had decided to go along, because he knew that there was no way of stopping them, and if they could pull it off it would be in everyone’s best interest if he was there. As he was packing his things for the mission, leaving armor and documents behind to make it easier, he found a note in his coin purse. It was definitely his, it was addressed to him. It was old… years old and worn. There was something about how the writer adored spending time with him and was to call for him if Prymrose ever needed, but the thing was, Prymrose had no idea who this was. He had never met a Cyrus, or an Ivyns, before. He showed it to Ayda, concerned, who also had no idea who he was or how that note came to be in his possession. It was weird, but he knew something about it was important.
