Fleck was born into a tribe of mutants in the middle of the mountains. They were born more humanistic than their fellow mutants and shunned for it. When they were about 8 years old they were scratched by a feral mutant while trying to defend it from being killed. The tribe kicked them out, knowing that they would continue to mutate over time. They wandered the wastes for 15 years, searching for a purpose. Eventually they found a radio tower where they set up camp. They defended the forest that they lived in from raiders and city slickers looking to hunt the animals there. They would house any passing travelers, giving gifts to children that came by. A rich man came through one day and began trying to threaten the balance of the forest. Fleck stole something valuable from this man and threatened his life if he didn't leave. They had a bounty put on their head promptly afterward and had been living in the radio tower since.
