Story

Lucien is a well lived Boisbéni, while young in appearance he has seen kingdoms rise and fall, and Mal's was no exception. Though his story does not start there.

Having barely gone off on his own, Lucien found himself tied into a relationship and later a bond with a vampire. He lived lavishly with his hero, enjoying the highlife that the vampire had built. Dining on the crispest and sweetest of grapes, the juiciest of pomegranates and drinking the finest of wines.

Though as the years turned to decades, and decades to centuries, the once kind and selfless Boisbéni had taken up many traits of his master. Becoming ruthless and demanding of anyone who had become part of the castle's staff. Even going so far as to lure people into the deepest depths of the castle, never to be seen again.

Within this time, Lucien had given his entirety to his hero. This devotion was nearing on obsession as he tended to their every whim and wish, just as they had done for them. And yet it was centuries before the thought of offering his neck to his hero even came to his mind. The vampire on the other hand, had been dreaming of tasting the Boisbéni's blood since the two had met.

When the day inevitably came, it was less than gentle. Finally offering his neck to the vampire with the intention of a quick nibble, it turned violent. The vampire began to drain every ounce of blood from the Boisbéni like they had been starved of blood for centuries. Lucien's attempts to fight them off his neck proved useless as he felt his conscious fade with every pulse of his still terrified beating heart.

When he woke, it was alone in the dark, still covered in his own blood. The world felt so much colder to him now and his joints felt stiff. It took him some time to figure out and remember what happened. He felt so empty.

So.. Hungry.

Despite the overwhelming feeling of betrayal, Lucien adjusted rather easily to his new life as a spawn. Things continued on as they had, though his hero's affection became distant as they had seemingly set eyes on a new companion. Jealousy consumed his thoughts as he watched the vampire pamper this new companion just as they had done to him.

Starved of blood and the attention he so craved. Lucien snapped, feeding and killing his master's new companion before he turned to the master himself. The battle itself had been difficult, as the vampire had been regularly feeding. But inevitably the vampire fell and was feasted upon by the Boisbeni. Forever staining the bond's once brilliant white pearls red with the vampire's blood.

Now released from his master's hand and living as a true vampire, Lucien took control of the other spawn and began his own ruthless rule of his master's people and region. Throughout the next several decades, he culled off spawn that grew to powerful or who were resistant to their new master. Leaving few spawn under his control, but enough for him to quiietly continue to gather wealth, power and riches from the shadows over the following century.

When King Mal came to power and began his hunt for Boisbéni, Lucien was quick to make himself known, appearing one night and offering his people, himself and his bond to the king with the condition he was allowed to mingle among the people of his kingdom. Seeing such a move as an easy way to gather more strength and wealth.

This freedom drew him to the coliseum, watching as the captive held Boisbéni fought and died. Truely finding entertainment in the bloodshed. He went on to use such fighting as yet another way to gain wealth, placing bets among the other nobility who gathered to watch the macabe displays. Even going so far as to sponsor some of his favourite fighters.

When the fall of Mal came, Lucien disappeared back into the shadows as he had been before the rise of Mal.
